What is life like in VMMC?

sd
saptarshi dutta Posted On : September 25th, 2023

This is an important question for medical aspirants.

As I joined VMMC, I had the same question in mind. After spending some time at this institution, I realized that it is a bittersweet experience. You’ll attend classes regularly, from 8 in the morning to 4 in the evening. On top of that, there are 2 hours of lab, and alternate tests. It does get exhausting after a while.

In comparison to other DU medical colleges, the study load is not much. You will also get the advantage of an internal PG quota. VMMC is close to most of the markets- CP, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, etc. Also, there are affordable hangout places nearby.

So, you will experience both good and challenging moments at VMMC. You’ll learn a lot from this institution, and grow into a skilled medical professional.

AS
Anup Sodhi Posted On : March 20th, 2023
Studied at IIT Guwahati

As a student, you can be assured that IIT Guwahati is good enough and it is up to you to perform well. Instead of focusing on what your college can do for you, shift your perspective and think about what you can do for your college. While IITG may not have as many resources as some other IITs like IITB, K, M, and D, it is still worth attending.

At IITG, you can benefit from some excellent professors, optimal resources for every student, good placement opportunities, as well as sports and cultural fests. Don't worry too much, and remember that with hard work, dedication, and effective use of your study time, you can achieve great success. Rather than relying solely on the IIT brand name, aim to make your own mark and make your college proud of your achievements.

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 22nd, 2023

The life of a female student at AFMC Pune depends on whichever semester you are in. During the initial years, you receive training from your seniors regarding the rules and regulations of the colleges. Moreover, the female population is very less so you might face issues adjusting and adapting to the new system. Specifically for females, the following points should be considered

  • The hostel rules are relatively more strict for girls than boys to ensure minimal opposite-gender interaction.
  • You will be highly cheered on if you are a good athlete as females being involved in sports is a rare scenario.
  • You will be expected to be good culturally meaning all the decorations during Silhouettes, the annual fest will be your responsibility solely. Moreover, your participation in Dance, drama, music, debate, and quizzing activities is highly expected.

However, there is no discrimination whatsoever in terms of academics. This is what the daily schedule of a female medical student at AFMC Pune looks like

  • Morning PT--6 am-7 am
  • Classes—8 am-1 pm and 2 pm-4 pm
  • Lunch—1pm-2pm
  • Sports—5 pm-7 pm
  • Dinner—7 pm-8 pm
  • Joint Sensitisation Program—8 pm-9 pm

So the day of a female student at AFMC Pune typically begins around 6 in the morning and lasts till 9 at night.

Yogesh Jindal Posted On : November 22nd, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

My sister is an IIM Ahmedabad pass out and narrated her experience of her first day at the prestigious institute.

Firstly you have to look at the seating chart outside the class. Once you enter you will find your name assigned to a particular seat. Seats are assigned on the basis of an unknown algorithm.

The first class is usually conducted by the Director Prof. Ashish Nanda. An alumnus of the institute, he is no less than a celebrity there. The students are excited to be in such a coveted place and taught by such an important person.

Class rooms are usually named CR1 or CR9. Find your own classroom beforehand and on the said date enter your classroom wel before time. You will be astonished to find that the class will have already been filled with eager students.

How is life at the IIIT Bhubaneswar?

BM
Bidushi Mitra Posted On : June 17th, 2023
studied at International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar (2019)

Life at IIIT Bhubaneswar is pretty good. But whether or not you like it, depends upon your expectations from this institution. IIIT Bhubaneswar has both good and bad points.

Good aspects:

  1. UG crowd is great
  2. Placements are decent, especially for CSE and IT branch
  3. Faculties provide all possible support to students for their research work
  4. There are various clubs at IIIT Bhubaneswar
  5. The infrastructure facilities for extracurricular activities are average.
  6. The faculty is decent and there are many helpful and supportive teachers
  7. Student grievances are noted by the college management

Bad aspects:

  1. IIIT Bhubaneswar has some rules that seem absurd to the students
  2. The recruiters focus mainly on CSE and IT branches. EEE and such branches may not be eligible for many of the companies that visit during placements season
  3. The mess food is below average
  4. Even for a simple issue, one has to get clearance from multiple people present in the Management, and this makes the process very slow and tedious
  5. The fee has increased substantially for the tuition, hostel, and other facilities over the years
  6. Some faculty members cause toxic politics. You should stay away from this and enjoy your time at IIIT Bhubaneswar

IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore or any IIT have far more opportunities. But if you know how to make use of the opportunities at IIIT Bhubaneswar, you will be able to achieve your goals and enjoy your time in the institution.
