Is placement in computer science (B.Tech) in NIT Trichy on par with IITs?
NIT Trichy placements for CSE are comparable to the placements of many IITs. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley, etc. are the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 17 LPA - 24 LPA. As per the recent placement highlights, the highest CTC goes up to INR 1 Crore per annum.
What are some unspoken rules at Thapar university?
One of my friends is a student at Thapar University, and here are some of the things that I heard from him. This is subjective and hence may vary from one person to another.
- The official time for entry at the boys' hostel is 10 pm. However, if you maintain a good relationship with the security guard at the hostel gate, you can roam around the campus at any time of the night.
- The COS road is the most preferred one for going to the hostels. The reason is unknown though.
- After college, hanging around nearby momo stalls or any other stalls is better than hanging around at the college canteen.
- Irrespective of how much distance you travel, the fare for the rickshaw/ e-rickshaw remains the same which is Rs. 10.
- If there is a Lab class right after the lunch break, then you still have got 10 extra minutes to chill.
- The lab teacher may appoint ME students for evaluation so you should always be nice to the ME students.
- Some teachers are known for detaining students even in their 7th semester, never mess with them.

How is Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering for Computer Science and Engineering? What is the average package?
One of my friends recently graduated from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE). Here is what she had to say about the CSE placement at the institute.
The institute is autonomous, and the quality of education, assignments, and projects has been improved over the years. The placements for the CSE branch are promising. All the companies allow CSE students to sit for campus placement. Recently, JP Morgan came to the campus in the sixth semester and offered packages of around INR 6 LPA. Therefore, placement would not be a problem.
All the students across all branches get placed in at least one company. Most students get placed in Accenture, Infosys, HPE, Continental Automotive, Moog, EY, UHG, Dell, JP Morgan, Oracle, Tally, Cognizant, and more. All of these have recruited CSE students in the past.
I will advise you to talk to seniors, before joining the institute, to have a clear picture.
How one should prepare for getting admission in FMS Delhi?

What if I get into a low ranked DU college?
Getting admission to DU is a big deal. You should not feel apathetic and discouraged even if you do not get a top-ranked college. Every college of DU has an equal value when you get the degree. The faculties are cooperative and supportive. They are always ready to help the students.
The only major differences are the infrastructure and the surrounding. Simplicity and Uniformity are observed in everyone studying or teaching at DU. Being one among the 2.5k applicants to be accepted into a DU college is something to be proud of. Be content with what you currently have, explore opportunities, and ask your seniors for assistance if necessary.
"Getting into a good college" is an exaggerated and superficial concept and sincere courtesy goes to the media. Every DU college follows the same teaching standards.
It is a fact that everything happens for a reason. On Facebook, there was a post titled "Humans of SRCC" in which a few students expressed their thoughts and issues they had encountered at the college. They claim that they do not fit in at SRCC's fast-paced environment and that they feel isolated at times.
So, rather than regretting or overthinking what fate has in store for them, one should always accept it with grace and satisfaction.
Currently, is IIEST Shibpur, formerly BESU, better than Jadhavpur University?
IIEST Shibpur offers integrated MTech for engineering streams. So, first, be clear if you want to pursue MTech from an institute that does not have a record of producing post-grads like IITs or other universities abroad.
Comparison:
In academics, there is not much difference between JU CS and BESU CS.
In fact in the present scenario, JU CS has better placement statisticsas compared to BESU CS.For this reason, sometimes BESU CS/IT graduates join IITs after the completion of their course and often end up in the same firms their fellow JU mates are working in for 2 years.
BESU got updated to the status of IIEST quite recently. It will take some time for the institute to improve its infrastructure and academics. Being an institute of national importance, the institute is attracting good facilities and campus recruits.
The bottom line is if you are sure that you want to pursue integrated MTech, IIEST CS is not a bad option. Be it JU or BESU, the institute does not matter that much. If you are hard-working, you will excel.
Is Chandigarh University the best?
Chandigarh University has excellent infrastructure, academics, and faculty. Academics are changed on a regular basis. A Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) provides input to help keep the curriculum streamlined. Students are recruited by top-tier companies. The placement record is outstanding.
Practical learning is prioritized. Those on the other side of the table who prefer extracurricular activities will find a plethora of sports and cultural opportunities and events at CU. Scholarships are available in a variety of categories. Every university is exceptional in its own right. And being the best does not preclude it from having flaws or drawbacks. CU is excellent in its own right. Campus and hostel security is excellent.
During campus hours, you must wear your ID card. If you are interested, you can participate in a variety of events, sports, and other activities. You have a lot more options there.
Is IIT Madras a good option for humanities?
While IIT Madras is a reputable technical institute, its humanities department is primarily a supporting department rather than a central focus. If you are considering pursuing humanities, it is important to keep in mind that not all institutions offer the same level of focus on this field of study.
It may be worth considering institutions that have a greater emphasis on this field. This will give you the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject and connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for the humanities.
Institutions that have a strong focus on the humanities may also have a different approach to teaching and learning compared to those with a more technical or science-based focus. This can be a valuable aspect of your educational experience, as it can expose you to different perspectives and ways of thinking.

Is VIT better than some NITs like say NIT Durgapur?
No, VIT is not better than NITs at all. In fact, its a private engineering college so it will cost you much more than studying at a government college like NIT. Here is why I think NITs in general or NIT Durgapur, in particular, is better than VIT
- Although NITs have a reservation policy, it does not suck as much as the Management Quota at VIT that lets in a huge number of average students.
- The placement statistics clearly put NIT Durgapur ahead of VIT.
- NIT Durgapur has a rich legacy and is highly reputed among recruiters.
- You will get the advantage of the NIT tag and one can deny the fact that it does give you an edge over others

Can I get NIT Goa with a 97 score?
Admission to the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa is highly competitive and is based on a candidate's performance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The JEE Main exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is held twice a year.
