For fresher B.Tech boys, there are four hostels at NIT Trichy. These are- Agate, Jade, Diamond and Coral. The rooms at these hostels are three/four seater, and have enough space to accommodate the furniture of each occupant. All of these hostels have decent wifi facilities. 

Each one of them has its own pros and cons. Agate gets good wifi speed, and is comparatively close to most academic buildings. Jade is the farthest from every college building, but it has its own cricket ground on the backside. Moreover, its rooms are well ventilated. Jade experiences a water cut once every two months, and every hostel experiences a 15 minute power cut once a month. 

The fresher hostels at NIT Trichy are decent and liveable.

Nirma University has undergone a lot of improvement in facilities and campus with time in the last few years, along with its advancement in other aspects. 

A detailed description of the present life at Nirma University is stated below in points.

• The classrooms have 6 ACs, individual chairs, a projector, which makes them a lot more comfortable for students.
• In the library, students are now allowed to issue 5 books. There is an e-mail support system to notify students in case of an issue or deadline for renewal. 
• There is a lot of improvement in the food quality in the canteen, which is now managed by honest people. In addition, Wi-Fi is now provided to every student.
• The institute has the facility of a student academic calendar where everything is noted, from holidays to exam dates. 
• There is a strict 85% minimum criterion. If you are unable to reach the 85% mark you have to face extra assignments, which can be done in teams too because quite a good number of students face that.
• There are regular field trips arranged for students in modern technologies. Seminars and expert lectures are quite common too. Inside the campus, there are various technical and non-technical clubs that organize several events and workshops. 
• The institute's clubs organize NU-TECH, the techno-management fest of the institute, where there are plenty of opportunities to showcase talent. Students from the institute have also been successful in GSoC and published papers in IEEE.

Therefore, life at Nirma University is worth exploring, with a lot of learning and enjoyment. It gives the opportunity to gain actual value in every aspect, being in the institute.

This happened with my friend Rohit, back when we were at BIT Mesra. We were freshers at the time.

That night, Rohit was returning back to his hostel from a gaming event at 10:30 pm. As he was entering the hostel gate, a senior told Rohit to park his (the senior’s bike) inside the hostel as a favor. The senior pretended to have hurt his leg in a minor road accident. 

Rohit obliged, but as he was following the request, the senior took away his wallet and ran inside the hostel. That senior did so to tease Rohit. But Rohit was scared, and asked the guard for help. The guard called the patrolling guards who took the situation under control. They got to the senior, and took back Rohit’s wallet from him. Rohit decided not to complain about all this to the college authorities. 

But the next day, the hostel guard reported everything to the Dean. The hostel supervisor asked Rohit to write a written complaint. Rohit was frightened and wrote down everything honestly. A month passed by, and all this while, the senior kept on apologizing to Rohit. 

After one month, a notice was pasted, stating that the matter was being taken seriously. My friend was asked to write down his complaint once again. This time Rohit mentioned that the senior had apologized multiple times. Rohit requested that the matter be resolved.

At the end, the senior got two black dots and Rs. 2000 fine. But at the same time, Rohit also received one black dot and Rs. 1000 fine. This happened only because Rohit had changed his written statement, and asked for the senior to be forgiven. 

This is an interesting and disappointing “Black Dot” story.

NIT Jamshedpur is a premier technical institution in India, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various engineering and technology fields. The institute has a residential campus, and all students are required to stay in the hostels provided by the institute.

Here are some aspects of hostel life at NIT Jamshedpur:

• Accommodation: The institute has separate hostels for male and female students, each equipped with basic amenities such as beds, tables, chairs, cupboards, and fans. The hostel rooms are allotted on a sharing basis, with two or three students per room.
• Food: The institute has a central mess that provides three meals a day to the students. The mess menu is designed to cater to the diverse food preferences of students from different regions of India. The quality and taste of the food are generally good, and there are options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.
• Facilities: The hostels at NIT Jamshedpur are equipped with various facilities such as a common room, TV room, indoor games, and a reading room. The institute also has a gymnasium, swimming pool, and outdoor sports facilities such as cricket, football, and volleyball.
• Rules and regulations: The institute has a set of rules and regulations that all hostel residents must abide by. These include restrictions on late-night outings, consumption of alcohol and drugs, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the hostel premises.
• Cultural activities: NIT Jamshedpur encourages its students to participate in various cultural activities and festivals. The institute hosts cultural events such as music and dance competitions, literary fests, and technical fests, which provide an opportunity for students to showcase their talents.
