CSE at CGC Landran is great. The department has experienced professors. The academics offered are pretty good. CGC Landran organizes frequent industry visits and guest lectures to keep students up to date with the ever-changing industry trends.
CSE students bag the maximum number of placement offers in the campus drive. According to the recent highlights of CGC Landran placements, the highest CTC received by CSE students is around INR 40 LPA.
Don't pay heed to the ones advising you to choose NITs over BITS Pilani because no matter how good even the best NIT Trichy is, it can never reach the level of globally recognized BITS Pilani. BITS Pilani is second only to the 5 old IITs and every other technical institute in India comes after it.
The usual preference order is
IIT Bombay>IIT Delh>IIT Madras>IIT Kanpur>IIT Kharagpur>BITS>IIT Roorkee>IIT Varanasi>IIT Guwahati>NIT Trichy>NIT Surathkal>NIT Warangal
It's very important to evaluate a college's worth and credibility based on relevant factors. Here are a few aspects you should take into consideration while making the decision.
Ultimately, it's up to you to prioritize one factor over the other and make a well-formed decision based on the research you have done.
It entirely depends on the vacancy. There is no such cutoff system. If you can secure a good rank, i.e. within the top 300, then you can go for the CSE branch. Otherwise, it entirely depends on the vacancy. If you get a rank of around 1500-3000, and you want IT or CE, chances of getting admission are low, as most students choose these courses. However, in the counseling, they give a form in which you can fill out your choice of branch and if there are any vacancies later, you can upgrade your branch.
If you're looking for a top engineering college in India, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy is a great option to consider, better than IIT Dhanbad. Here are some reasons why:
It's worth noting that while a college's reputation can be important, it's not the only factor to consider when choosing a college. It's important to also consider your own needs and preferences, such as location, campus culture, and program offerings. However, if you're looking for a strong engineering program with a good track record of placements and top-notch facilities, NIT Trichy is a college to consider.
I don’t think anyone choosing IIT Delhi over any other engineering college has made a wrong decision given the opportunities and life experiences that come with it. While both are crucial, your choice of Institute is more important than your branch.
Here is a friend's journey for your reference l was a BTech student (Civil) at IIT BHU with a rank of 3600.
This journey of a 7-pointer Civil Branch student to a high-tech CS company proves that branch does not matter in the end. He made the most of his campus life and kept struggling to switch his branch and eventually succeeded. That being said, you have made the right decision as only IIT Delhi can give you the right set of opportunities and exposure and not DTU.
I completed my B.Tech CS from NIT Rourkela, so I can only speak for my own college.
For placements, NIT Rourkela is probably behind the other two because of its locational disadvantage. The lack of good connectivity creates difficulty for IT/software firms to reach Rourkela during placement season. Despite that, last year, the average package for B.Tech CS was Rs. INR 21.87 LPA at NIT Rourkela. This is quite a decent figure.
Moreover, I can assure you of the excellent research and infrastructural facilities at NIT Rourkela. It is probably better than the other two in this regard, and can even be compared to NIT Trichy. A good number of students from the CS department get offered foreign research internships. Some of them even end up receiving an offer for higher studies from universities in the US and Europe.
NIT Rourkela is a good option for B.Tech CS if you want to pursue higher studies, but it might not be the best in terms of placements.
Here’s a list of the top NITs and IIITs that you can consider for CSE.
Institute | Ranking by NIRF 2022 (B.Tech) | CSE average CTC |
IIIT Hyderabad | #62 | 23 LPA |
NIT Trichy | #8 | 17-24 LPA |
NIT Surathkal | #10 | 15-16 LPA |
NIT Warangal | #21 | 25.5 LPA |
IIIT Allahabad | #93 | 30 LPA |
IIIT Bangalore | #81 | 23.7 LPA |
This list is based on various factors such as faculty, academics, curriculum, placements, infrastructure, peer group, etc.
BITS Hyderabad is definitely better than VIT Vellore for CS. Here are some reasons for the same-
Thus, I would recommend you choose BITS Hyderabad for your B.E. in CS.
For CS, DTU will be the better choice. Given below are the reasons for choosing DTU over the other institutes.

Advantages - DTU:
Even if you realize after a few months of your course that engineering is not for you, you will still get to learn a lot from the campus culture.
If you are looking for the best college for CS then go for DTU among the aforementioned institutes. Although all the colleges will offer great opportunities, DTU has an upper hand in certain areas.
Ultimately a college can only give you the initial kick in your career but the rest depends on your hard work and determination!
