Is it so difficult for a fresher (final year graduate) to understand the concepts of construction management in NICMAR?

PJ
Pratistha Joshi Posted On : September 17th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Construction Management and Research (2019)

One of my friends has studied at NICMAR and here are his views. These might answer your question, but it is suggested that you do your part of the research too.

  • In simple terms, the candidate gets to learn the technical aspects of construction in engineering.
  • In NICMAR, the candidate gets to learn the managerial aspect of construction.
  • The candidate would not feel that the subject is too complicated even if they are fresher.
  • But the candidate might understand the same concept better if they had any prior experience in the same field.
  • He should not worry if they are fresher as more than 70% of the student batch are mostly fresher.

The candidate will get placed in a good construction firm eventually. It is important to concentrate on learning.

What are the placements at NIT Rourkela?

SV
Sudeeksha Verma Posted On : August 9th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2020)

The placement scenario at NIT Rourkela is second only to the top NITs. In fact, it has high cutoffs too. Most students unable to make it to the top NITs consider NIT Rourkels as their first option. The reason is its improving placement statistics. Sparing a few core branches, the average packages are decent for most branches.

NIT Rourkela Placements 2023 rapped with a total of 1534 job offers. The highest package was recorded at INR 52.98 LPA whereas the average package stood at INR 12.95 LPA. 8 students received the highest package & 24 students received a package of around INR 50 LPA.

Branches like Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, and Ceramic Engineering branches recorded 100% placements. Here is the branch-wise average package offered during NIT Rourkela Placements 2023:

Computer Science Engineering

INR 21.87 LPA

Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

INR 18.12 LPA

Electronics & Communication Engineering

INR 17.97 LPA

Electrical Engineering

INR 14.55 LPA

A total of 330 recruiters participated in the placement drive, the major ones being Apple, Google, VISA, etc.

What coding language should I learn for placements at IIT Madras?

PM
Pubali Mitra Posted On : July 29th, 2021
B.Tech Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (2017)

My brother is an alumnus of IIT Madras and here are some tips from him for doing well in placements.

  • For the placements, the algorithms are much more important than the language. You can pick just one language like C++ or Java.
  • You can learn data structures and algorithms. Various questions are asked from topics like linked lists, binary trees, queues, stacks, etc.
  • It is also important to choose the language depending on the sectors that you are targeting. If you are going for analytics/data science profiles, it would be better for you to learn R and/or Python. Along with this, you need to be strong with the basics of statistics.
  • If you are good at maths and know one of these languages then you are good to go.

Hope this helps.

Which is better - CSE at Thapar or UIET?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : August 7th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Without any doubt, CSE at Thapar University is a fairly better option than CSE at UIET. The academic culture as well as the availability of opportunities is way more at Thapar and you won’t regret choosing it over UIET.

  • Thapar University has a top-notch infrastructure that improves the learning experience as a whole.
  • The majority of the professors are experienced and learned well-known among the Indian masses.
  • The students are encouraged to do research and many students write their own research papers too.
  • Thapar has a better and more number of recruiters than UIET. You will be surprised to know that last year, Thapar had 395 recruiters while UIET only had 15.
  • The salary packages offered even by the same companies are better in Thapar than in UIET.
  • Thapar has excellent CSE placements above 90%.

The only drawback of Thapar University is its increasing fees. So if you have any financial constraints you need to consider this.

What were the CGPA requirements for placements in KIIT?

SC
Srijita Chowdhury Posted On : July 25th, 2023
B.Tech from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)

There are two aspects to your placements, whether you are concerned just about the immediate packages or if you are concerned about the long-term career prospects.

As far as only the packages are concerned, CGPA matters only in some of Companies. To stay on the safe side, try scoring between 6.5–7.0. The reason CGPA is considered for shortlisting is because of the huge batch size. Usually, students scoring less than 8.5 don’t clear these interviews. Apart from CGPA, you will have to convince the recruiter that you are a suitable candidate for the job through your communication skills and knowledge.

For your career prospects, CGPA alone is never enough. For some the placement drives are excellent opportunities while for some they are horror. However, when your career is concerned placements are not the only thing that can help you. So it’s better to not get overwhelmed. I know someone who failed to get placed in KIIT and ended up with the highest package in off-campus placements. If you want a bright career, try focusing on your passion rather than placements. Do something you absolutely love and success will find you one day.

Is it true that XIMB doesn't have 100% summer internship placements? If not, what do the remaining do?

SS
Souvick Sharma Posted On : April 19th, 2021
Studied MBA in Human Resource Management at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2019)

Summer internships are part of the curriculum at XIMB and are graded with a certain number of credits. So, it is necessary for every student to do a summer internship compulsorily. Thus it is made sure by the institute itself that every student gets an internship for the summers. So, it is entirely false that XIMB does not have 100% summer internship placements. Some students do find better offers than given in the campus placements and thus they opt out of the process. Otherwise, placements are handled by the institute itself.

Also, do not think of summer internships as final placements. You may not get an internship at a reputed company, but you will get an internship for sure. Final placements are a whole different game than summer placements. There have been instances where students who have done internships at smaller companies have landed top jobs during final placements. So, it actually matters less which company you did an internship for, rather grades, business acumen is more important for final placements. You should focus on studies, participating in business school competitions to hone your skills and you will definitely do well in your placements.

Who earns more IIT or IIM?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : May 17th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

IITs and IIMs are the two most coveted tags in the country. The comparison between IIM and IIT has been a long-standing debate. The reason for their high demand is the guarantee of job opportunities at least at MNCs. The high monetary return makes both the institutes equally desired with just the difference in the nature of jobs offered.

Both IITs and IIMs have had an excellent placement record since their establishment and are known to provide excellent packages. The salary of different IITs and IIMs have been tabulated below.

IIT Average Packages

IITs

Average package

IIT Madras

INR 15,00,000

IIT Delhi

INR 22,50,000

IIT Bombay

INR 20,00,000

IIT Kanpur

INR 15,00,000

IIT Kharagpur

INR 15,00,000

IIM Average Packages

IIMs

Average package

IIM Ahmedabad

INR 26,00,000

IIM Bangalore

INR 26,00,000

IIM Calcutta

INR 24,00,000

IIM Lucknow

INR 22,00,000

IIM Kozhikode

INR 22,50,000

The IITs offer a better ROI because of fewer fees in comparison to IIMs. However, IIMs offer higher packages in comparison to IITs. Ultimately, the choice of being an alumnus of IIT or IIM solely depends on you whether you want to become an engineer or a manager

The following are the factors that one should consider before joining CSE in Amity University Kolkata:
