How good is the placement of the MCA at Thapar University?

JK
Jitesh Kumar Posted On : August 12th, 2021
Studied MCA at Thapar University (2019)

One of my friends studied at Thapar University. According to him, pursuing MCA at Thapar might not be a good choice. This is because a B.Tech in CSE graduate is always preferred over an MCA degree.

  • During placement interviews, the panelists will see in your resume that you have a BCA or B.Sc. degree in CSE.
  • Due to this, most of them assume that you didn't get an opportunity to study B.Tech so you chose BCA.
  • They tend to lean on B.Tech graduates, as they will help maintain the reputation of the firm.
  • The thing you can do after BCA is to get a lateral entry and obtain a diploma in CSE.
  • After that, you can try to take admission in the 2nd year of the B.Tech program at Thapar.
  • This will help you secure a better job opportunity than an MCA degree.
  • An MCA degree from Thapar will get you a salary package of 5-10 LPA.
  • A B.Tech degree will get you a 15-25 LPA salary package.
Category MCA at Thapar University
Total Fee 3.89 lakh
Companies Visited Tech Mahindra, Infosys, ZS Associates, Byju’s, etc.
Highest Package 23 LPA
Average Package 5-10 LPA

MCA at Thapar is way better than many other colleges like CGC Landran, Chandigarh University, etc. But it is important to remember that the recruiter at any IT company will always differentiate between an MCA graduate and a B.Tech CS graduate.

What is the difference between COE and CSE at Thapar University?

RS
Rachita Sengupta Posted On : July 4th, 2022
B.Tech in Information Technology, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

CoE stands for Computer Engineering. This course includes the study of software and hardware. While CSE stands for Computer Science and Engineering and the course work revolves around programming languages, developing software, theory, and algorithms.

If you are more interested in coding, CSE will be a better choice. The placement record of the branch is also good. The highlights of Thapar University placements show the average CTC for CSE to be around INR 13 LPA.

Anushka Das Posted On : July 28th, 2021
MBA Marketing & Human Resources, KIIT School of Management (2018)

KIIT School of Management at Bhubaneswar boasts of having the most vibrant campus in all of KIIT University.

The faculty is so supportive that they will make you feel at home. They will enthusiastically help you if you are having problems. My friend from school completed his BBA from the institute and in his opinion; it is the most active campus currently in Bhubaneswar.

KIIT School of Management has an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It falls under the 39 best B-schools in India and is in the top 6 in Eastern India. Scores of XAT, GMAT, CAT, MAT and ATMA are accepted for admission. In addition to these, the institute also offers dual specialization to its students.

How good is hostel life at NIET?

AS
Anubha Sharma Posted On : June 1st, 2021
BA Computer Programming & Movies, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (2019)

Here are some of the information from an ex-student of NIET and a good friend of mine about the girl’s hostel.

  • The wifi facility is available, however, most of the sites are blocked and students use VPN to use them.
  • The food served initially is good but over time, the quality degrades. The mess committee guarantees quality and change of menus in starting year but you won’t get to see any change.
  • Lift is also available but it never works. It is always under maintenance. The student of the first year gets 4th floor and they have to struggle a lot due to this.
  • The security management of the hostel is quite good.
  • The rooms in the girls’ hostel are of two types- three and four-seater. The first-year students are placed on the 4th floor in four-seater rooms and rest in 1st. 2nd, and 3rd in three-seater.
  • There is no Gym facility for girls in the hostel. There is one on the second campus, you will have to go by NIET Bus.
  • You are not allowed to be in your room during college hours. As there won’t be any electricity.
  • The students are allowed to stay out till 7 pm. And for a night out, you will have to take permission from the chief warden who will first ask from parents and then allow.

Overall the hostel experience will be average. You can opt for the college hostel in first year to make some friends, and move out later in 2nd year.

How tough is the first year at PES University?

KS
Khushi Sharma Posted On : May 21st, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, PES University (2021)

My brother studied in this institute, so I might be able to help you with the question. Let me discuss how his first year went.

  • Honestly, at first, you do feel that your first semester is tougher than other colleges.
  • The faculty is good and very friendly and cooperative.
  • The marking scheme, the assignments, and the volume of study, plus the skewed branch-wise ratio can result in excessive peer pressure.
  • But once you've figured out how the system works it will be easier to manage.

Furthermore, from ex-students and present students, you will get to know both sides of the coin. You can then compare both of their experiences. You will get to know what changed and how tougher the first year became from before.

Other than your dedicated departmental subjects. Both physics and chemistry are also equally difficult. They require some surreal level of effort to achieve a good GPA. You just have to stay focused and concentrate on your studies. It is easier to improve your GPA in the first year.

I currently have a salary of 25L as a product manager. Is it worth it doing an MBA further at ISB, Hyderabad or in US universities? I want to do entrepreneurship, and a MBA for networking

Former Co-founder & COO/Head of Admissions (2017–2019)

Since your main goal is to grow a stronger network, considering US universities is of no use. However, if you are okay with developing international networks US universities are a viable option.

Comparing ISB Hyderabad with a US university is a lengthy discussion. Your choice should depend on whether you are planning to settle abroad or settle within India. If your ultimate goal is settling abroad, US universities should be your only option.

If we compare the pay structure, the average package offered at ISB Hyderabad is nearly the same as your current salary whereas US universities offer 7 times better salaries.

Both options require a lot of effort from the initial stage. To get into either, you need a spectacular profile and an impactful application strategy.

How do I get my IGNOU ID card?

MP
Mehul Pandey Posted On : October 20th, 2022
BCA in Software and Applications & Android (operating system), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

There are two options for obtaining an IGNOU ID Card.

One is done online, while the other is done offline.

  • To access the online mode, go to the IGNOU official website and log in with your username and password; you will then see the 'Download Admit Card' option. Take a colored printout by clicking on that. Then, take this printed copy to your Regional center and have it attested.

You can experiment with another online mode. Google "IGNOU admit card blank format," then paste your photograph and fill out all of the required information. Now go to the regional center to have it attested.

  • To use the offline mode, go to your regional Center, ask for the admit card, and they will give you a blank format of ID Card. All you have to do is paste your photo on it and fill in the blanks. Get it attested by them now.

It is critical to remember that only Attested ID Cards are legal.

Khushi Sharma Posted On : September 7th, 2021
L.L.B from Lloyd Law College (2018)

One of my friends is pursuing Law from Lloyd and according to him Lloyd is an amazing college and the faculty team is also quite knowledgeable.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the institute.

Pros:

  • The college has a beautiful campus with greenery.
  • Weekly seminars, national and international level competitions, quizzes, and other activities are regularly held.
  • The campus placements are very good. Big companies, firms, and banks recruit students during placement drives. The average CTC offered is around 3 LPA.

Cons:

  • The fee structure is quite rigid.
  • The attendance policy is very strict.
  • The faculties are changed frequently.

Overall, Lloyd is a good option for pursuing a law degree.

How much marks in AILET assures you a seat(Gen) in NLU Delhi for BALLB?

AA
Ankit Agrawal Posted On : April 5th, 2023
Studied at National Law University,Delhi (2017)

NLU Delhi conducts the AILET for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate law programs, including the BA LLB program. The AILET exam is highly competitive, and the cutoff marks vary from year to year, depending on various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats.

It is difficult to predict a specific score that would guarantee admission to NLU Delhi for the BA LLB program, as the cutoff marks may vary from year to year. However, based on past trends and previous year's cutoffs, a general idea of the cutoff marks can be obtained.

Here are the cutoff marks for AILET for the past three years for General Category

  • AILET 2021: 72 marks out of 150 marks
  • AILET 2020: 86 marks out of 150 marks
  • AILET 2019: 72 marks out of 150 marks

It's important to note that these are just the cutoff marks and meeting them does not guarantee a seat in NLU Delhi. Admission is also based on other factors like the availability of seats, reservation policy, and performance in the interview round (if applicable).

So, while no fixed score guarantees admission to NLU Delhi for the BA LLB program, aiming to score around 80-90 marks or above out of 150 marks in AILET exam would significantly increase your chances of getting a seat. However, it is always advisable to aim for the highest possible score and perform well in the interview round to maximize your chances of getting admission into NLU Delhi.
