What is the level of NSIT DELHI compared to IITs and NITs?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : August 21st, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

Like every other Institute NSUT has its own pros and cons. It enjoys a good location in addition to excellent placement opportunities and a number of societies. However, it has no wifi access and the institute does not have a CGPA system. This affects your future prospects to a great extent.

Here is a comprehensive comparison of NSUT Delhi with IITs and NITs

  • NITS vs Old IITs : Obviously, I think all old IITs are better than NSUTs considering factors like academics, infrastructure, faculty, research, etc
  • NSUT VS New IITs: Although IITs have a brand value attached to them, the new IITs have poor infrastructure and faculty pool. NSUT on the other hand has better infrastructure and also enjoys a good location. So if you want to go for CS/IT, choose NSUT else consider your personal preferences.
  • NSUT vs NITs: The top NITs are better than NSUT but the problem is they are located in South India. So, as a South Indian, you may face some issues.

Choose whatever aligns with your preferences!

GC
Gautam Chowdhury Posted On : July 19th, 2023

MTech in Process Control and Instrumentation is one of the best branches you can get and has excellent job opportunities. The best part is its multifaceted nature that includes students from the Chemical, Instrumentation, and Electrical discipline. Although NIT Tricy does not release branch-wise placement statistics, one of my friends applied for an RTI in 2021, and here is the information included in it.

Can I get admission in IIT Jodhpur without taking the JEE exams?

SC
Sarthak Chaudhuri Posted On : July 27th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (2022)

No, for every bachelor's course offered at IIT Jodhpur, you have to clear JEE Exam and get a rank that qualifies you for admission. Some IITs accept Bachelors admission with JEE Rank but not for engineering courses. For instance, IIT Madras offers a Bachelor's program in the Humanities department for which you only need to clear HSEE.

Here are the programs offered by IIT Jodhpur and the exams accepted respectively

BTech

JEE Main

MBA

CAT

M. Tech and Integrated M.Tech+Ph.D.

GATE

M.Sc. and M.Sc. + M.Tech.

IIT JAM

Ph.D.

GATE, UGC-NET, JRF, or SLET

However, every engineering course requires JEE rank for admission irrespective of any IIT.

Can I get admission in any NLSIU after cracking CLAT?

RA
Rytash Anand Posted On : September 28th, 2021
BTS from Indira Gandhi National Open University (2020)

Presently, only one college comes under the NLSIU tag and it is number one on the list. In order to get into NLSIU Bangalore, you have to make sure that your rank falls between AIR 1 to AIR 30.

Surely, there are other colleges as well that you can get into after cracking CLAT, the ones with the NLU and NALSAR tag. Here are some facts you should know about NLU.

  • NLUs are allotted as per your rank and your preference list which you indicate in your application.
  • For example, if you have an AIR 1, and have chosen NLSIU Bangalore as your first preference, you will get into NLSIU Bangalore and other colleges mentioned in the first place of your list.
  • But if you get an AIR between 500-600s and NLSIU is your first preference, there is no chance of getting into NLSIU and you may end up in a lower-ranked NLUs.
  • If your AIR is between 1 to 40 you can get into any National Law University of your preference.

Therefore try working harder for your CLAT exam, as the better your rank will get you admitted in your preferred colleges.

Should I go for an MBA in IIM Indore or wait another year for better opportunities?

PS
Paheli Sinha Posted On : May 28th, 2022
studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore

You should go for IIM Indore. It is a reputed B-School with excellent facilities and academics. IIM Indore placements are also pretty good. During the 2022 campus drive, students received an average CTC of INR 25 LPA. BMW, Cisco, and Accenture Strategy were some of the major recruiters. Joining IIM Indore will be worth the investment.

CAT is highly competitive. You can’t be certain that you will get a good score next year. So, joining IIM Indore will be a wise choice.

How good is an MBA from Osmania University?

NR
Niya Roy Posted On : September 23rd, 2021
MBA Marketing,Osmania University (2021)

There is a huge difference between the educational establishment of Osmania University than what you will usually find in other institutes. However, if you are searching for an academic backdrop concerning a corporate lifestyle, then you should rather choose to join other B-schools. Here are some things I got to know about it online.

  • The study standpoint is quite different in Osmania University.
  • This university would not necessarily spoon feed the choices you have in hand, and will rather spend time crafting you to make choices on your own.
  • The infrastructure of the university is quite good.
  • But when talking about whether a student wants to prepare for government examinations, or the stream they have pursued usually only depends upon the selection they put in prior.
  • This university comes with an upper hand because it provides students ample opportunities to redeem themselves from their mistakes, in their academic life.
  • In terms of the liberty students generally have access to, Osmania University tends to put freedom prior to unjust restrictions.
  • The university, other than the few mentioned above, inculcates general leadership skills in students to improve their way of living or conducting life, both socially and personally.

An MBA graduate from the university will unquestionably have all the required skills necessary for the corporate industry.

I've scored 138 in JEE Mains. Can I get into IIIT Hyderabad?

Studied at IIIT Hyderabad

To be frank, it's quite difficult to get into IIIT Hyderabad with a score of 138 when even the 5-year courses require higher marks. On average, you need a 220 mark to make it into IIIT Hyderabad. Also, the institute releases only the cutoff ranks and not cutoff marks.

2021

Cutoff By Rank

B.Tech Computer Science Engineering

Overall, the cutoff for JEE-Main general category is 445 - 1005 rank.

Is there any ragging at the Manipal University Jaipur?

SP
Shreeja Prasad Posted On : June 29th, 2021
Studied Computer Science at Manipal University Jaipur (2020)

If you are asking about serious and somewhat violent ragging, then no that does not happen at Manipal University Jaipur.

But there will be “casual interactions” with your seniors. It will be like an informal introduction where they will ask you for your name and all. They will also try to pull your leg a bit like asking to talk in Hindi only. They may also ask you to perform some small tasks such as dancing, acting or any such stuff. They may also ask you for some personal details which can make you a bit uncomfortable.

The best way to handle such situations is to stay calm and respect your seniors. Do not try to be too arrogant or be too shy. These interactions are done so that the seniors get to know you and you get to open up with others. These seniors will eventually become your friends, some even your best friends.

But if you try to become over smart, then certainly you will attract their unwanted attention which can become a problem for you.

At the time of campus placement of MCA at NIT Trichy, are companies checked in the 12th percentage also?

KC
Khushi Chaudhary Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied Master of Computer Applications at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University For Women (2020)

It's the case not just at NITT, but everywhere. It entirely depends on the visiting firm and whether they value your school percentages.

The placement cell will have all of your information entered into their placement portal, and they will be aware of everything, so if you give the firm an erroneous résumé, whether intentionally or unintentionally, they will be notified. Because there are so many students, your college will try to set minimum eligibility standards for them by requesting or something similar.

To make things clearer, I'll give you an example.

  1. Let's say Amazon Cloud is on the way, they've left the pointer criteria at 6, with no criteria in the 10+2 range.
  2. Deloitte arrives on the second day and demands 60+ in 10+2+3.You won't be able to do anything because Deloitte does it all throughout India. Colleges don't matter as per their rules.

However, if a random startup comes along and offers a nice, attractive package and has policy rules similar to the ones listed above. But the placement cell can request them to ease the criteria if students have low scores. It now hinges on the company's reputation. It is applicable to every institute.

Is NIT Agartala among the top NIT's?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 18th, 2023

Sadly no. NIT Agartala is nowhere near the top NITs. To understand this better, let’s divide all the NITs into 5 levels

  • Level 1:  NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Allahabad
  • Level 2: NIT Nagpur, NIT Calicut, NIT Rourkela
  • Level 3:  MNIT Jaipur, NIT Bhopal, NIT Surat, NIT Durgapur
  • Level 4: NIT Silchar, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Agartala, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Raipur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Patna, NIT Srinagar
  • Level 5: All the new NITs founded in or after 2010

So NIT Agartala falls in the 4 category. The main reason for its poor reputation is its location in the North East. It’s also the reason why it does not get much limelight despite being a very established engineering college and one of the old NITs.
