This is one of the common questions asked in an MBA interview. Generally the question “Why MBA?” encompasses all these. They may twist this question slightly according to your background.
These questions are frequently asked to gauge what is your thought process behind choosing an MBA. They want to know if you have given a deep thought about it and how you can convince the interviewer.
Secondly, they want to understand why you made this choice. The work you have done to date and the career trajectory you took, how it was good for you and how doing an MBA might be a good idea for your career progression. The more concrete and personal reasons you have, the more convincing it is both for you as well as for the panelists.
So, definitely pick some good reasons from your work experience and why it convinced you to pursue MBA in the HRM program. First, convince yourself and if you can, you can definitely convince the interviewers.
I seriously doubt that you will have much success in locating a student who has taken both of those classes. It is more prudent to make an effort to get this question answered by members of the faculty that are shared by both institutions. There is a significant amount of faculty exchange between XLRI Jamshedpur and the other IIMs, most notably IIMCal.
XLRI Jamshedpur's BM program interested me. Academic standards are high, in my opinion. It had less access to the world in Jamshedpur. As a result, students participated in fewer international exchange programs, guest lectures, visiting faculty, hands-on chances, and genuine projects, all of which would have likely improved education.
As a fresher, you will find the curriculum quite hectic and unapproachable. Yet with proper motivation and enough time you will find yourself adapting to the rigor and it will become a part of your life. Some major highlights of the course are

MDI Gurgaon CAT cut-off is 94 percentile. It has been reducing over the years starting since 2010. The CAT cutoff is usually released when the GD-PI list is published. But I would like you to reconsider your decision of pursuing PGP-IM instead of PGPM. You can complete PGPM and then go abroad for an exchange program for 3 months. But if you are getting PGP-IM in MDI Gurgaon and PGPM in a mediocre B School, then choosing MDI is a better option.
Some highlights about the PGP-IM course are

The difference between PGDM and PGDM-BKFS is that PGDM is the general MBA program and the course curriculum comprises all fundamental and cross-sectional areas of management while the course curriculum of PGDM-BKFS is tailor-made for Finance. In the first year for PGDM students are required to study various management-related subjects like Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operation. However, the BKFS course only includes Finance related topics.
TAPMI offers good infrastructure for BKFS. The institute has the largest state-of-arts finance lab in the country with 16 Bloomberg terminals. TAPMI also offers a unique Student Managed Investment Course (SMIC) for the finance stream in which BKFS students work in teams and each team has a mentor from industry currently working in the BFSI Sector. Also, unlike the traditional internship that PGDM students go through the BFS cohort had a two-month study tour in Bombay Stock Exchange where the students had their live projects.
Given below is a comparison between the two courses.

Let me strike off IIM Shillong from your list of preferences. This is because no matter how well it is doing, it can never compare to the older IIMs and the recruiting companies know that very well. Now let’s look at the other two options.
NITIE: This option is a feasible one only if you are interested in Operations. I won’t suggest it for any other domain.
MDI Gurgaon: From the alumni base to location advantage, this B School has it all. Now that you have chosen your college, let’s discuss the domain you will be choosing. I will suggest you go for HR only if you are seriously passionate about it. If you are confused between HR and Operations, the best option is the IM course. The PGP-IM of MDI, Gurgaon is the best International management course in India. Its USP is its generic nature making it possible for you to start your career in any domain like marketing, finance, Consulting, or product management.
When considering a post-graduation program in management, PGDM, a Dual Country Program may not offer as many advantages as one might expect. In fact, such programs often come with added costs and require students to spend a year studying in another country, such as Dubai. This can have several drawbacks, including missing out on valuable opportunities for networking and participating in Indian business school competitions. Additionally, when students return to India for placement, they may be competing with a larger pool of students from other programs.
In light of these factors, a more prudent option for some students might be to consider a program at a different institute such as TAPMI, which is lower in rank compared to IMT Ghaziabad. However, this tradeoff may be worth it for some students, as TAPMI offers a more favorable program that may better align with their career goals and aspirations.
TAPMI is a premier management institute in India known for its strong curriculum and industry-relevant courses. The program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a career in management. Additionally, the institute's alumni network of industry leaders can help students to secure internships and job opportunities post-graduation.
When considering a post-graduation program, it's important to research the different options available and weigh the pros and cons of each institute. Researching the institute's curriculum, faculty, and alumni network, as well as speaking to current students and alumni can help you to make an informed decision. Additionally, it would be a good idea to seek the opinion of professionals in the field you are interested in, as they can provide valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of different career paths.
If you are joining MBA BM at XLRI, be prepared for the rigorous course structure. XLRI batch profile will include students from IITs, NITs, BITS, and other reputed colleges around the country and abroad. So, scoring decent grades won’t be easy.
If you don’t have a decent past academic record, it will be difficult to secure summer internships. But if you have good CPI in XLRI, you can compensate for it. You need to maintain good grades to receive better placements, as well.
Go for the IIM Lucknow ABM program only if you are sincerely inclined towards agri. If not then choosing ABM will limit your career prospects considerably and you might even regret it later.
MDI Gurgaon PGDM is one of the oldest programs that have great value. MDI Gurgaon can easily be called the country’s best B School. The admissions are solely based on merit so the quality of your peers is top-notch. Some major highlights of the institute and its PGDM program are
So you will not regret choosing MDI even over IIM Lucknow.
