When considering a business school program, especially a one-year program, it is important to consider the cohort of the peer group and the experiences they bring to the table. While the faculty and brand of the school are important factors, the main source of knowledge in these courses often comes from peer group interaction through group discussions, projects, and sharing of experiences.
Additionally, students may also be responsible for seeking out opportunities for placements, so it is important to research and connect with seniors and peers in the industry to get a sense of what the program has to offer. It is not advisable to rely solely on rankings or advertisements when making a decision, as there may be more to consider than what is immediately apparent. It is important to do thorough research and dig deep before committing to a program.
I wouldn’t call IMA Ghaziabad an excellent Institute. Rather it’s an average decent college with average placement statistics. The recent pass-outs and students are not fully satisfied with the college’s performance in terms of ROI and roles offered in placements. Substandard job profiles were offered and students have harshly criticized the systems.
Go for a college where getting admission is not a cakewalk rather it is challenging.
Contact alumni through your LinkedIn profile and enquire about the job profile stability and average take-home salary. If you are still very sure don’t just take admission half-heartedly and attempt CAT, and MAT again to target better colleges. This is better than joining IMS Ghaziabad under the pretext of 100% placement when in reality there is no job stability due to bulk hire.
The simple answer is that the choice of the course depends more or your overall profile than the course itself. Irresponsible of your specialization your chances at placements will be low if your resume is below average. Moreover, institutes like IIM Indore and IIM Lucknow offer joint placements for both programs.
Students can apply to any company irrespective of their specialization. Yet there are many who are able to get into their dream companies while some failed to get a call from a reputed firm. This is because the PGP program just added value to your resume and if that is already poor then even PGP cannot guarantee you a high-paying job.
So if you already have a good resume all you need to do is improve your resume in marketing and operations. This can be done through extra-curricular activities and B-school competitions. For this the PGP-ABM program is perfect.
But if you have a below-average resume, then go for PGP. Because then extracurricular activities alone will not improve your resume. You need class projects and good academic scores to upgrade it. Unlike PGP-ABM, you won’t miss out on basic electives related to marketing/ops/finance.
So nothing is certain about an MBA program. One needs to know what he will be doing after acquiring knowledge to decide which course to take. I will personally suggest you go for IIM Lucknow PGP-ABM if you just want to improve your resume.
IMT is a well-established college and comparing it to a mediocre college like TAPMI is not justifiable. Of the two, IMT Ghaziabad is clearly a better choice. To explain further I have compared both these institutes on the basis of some parameters like
Particulars |
IMT Ghaziabad |
TAPMI |
Number of recruiters |
130+ |

Highest CTC |
INR 62 LPA |
INR 22.3 LPA |

From the table you can easily infer that the placement scenario is far better at IMT Ghaziabad than TAPMI. In fact in almost all aspects IMT Ghaziabad is way ahead so it’s definitely a better choice than TAPMI.
One of the major USPS of IIM Shillong is the diversity of electives it offers. Anyone who hasn’t decided on a domain can have a peek into the various angles of the business sector and then make a healthy decision.
The courses offered are flexible, comprising a blend of Marketing, HR, Operations, Finance, etc. This enables the students not to specialize in a single domain only. As far as HR is concerned, I have listed down some highlights of this particular domain at IIM Shillong.
At the end of the program, you will have developed a detailed knowledge of terms, concepts and insights.

It has state-of-the-art infrastructure with several activities taking place round the year focusing on holistic development. Hence it is up to the individual to make an informed choice.
I would say that you should definitely choose XIMB.
It's their primary program, and it will be much better than IMT G's DCP program. Just because of cost. The DCP program has fees that are over 22 lakhs and an average package of around 9 lakhs per annum. In contrast, the XIMB BM program has an average package of 13 lakhs per annum and fees of 15.40 lakhs for two years. Also, keep in mind that the DCP program is still new, so there won't be much support from the business.
I would have considered IMT G if it was a full-time program. If you can move up to IMT Ghaziabad and want to get an MBA with a focus on marketing and entrepreneurship courses, you should choose IMT Ghaziabad. But the DCP course fee isn't worth it for the same opportunity unless you want to work abroad, especially in Dubai.
NIRDPR offers both a 1 year PG Diploma course in Rural Development (RD) and a 2 year PGDM RD Course (from 2018).
Since it is a rural Development programme, the major focus of this course lies in reaching out and benefitting the rural regions.
The students of NIRD are hired as youth professionals in various such initiatives for a minimum of 2 years, that can be extended based on working performance.
These institutions provide a salary ranging between INR 33,000 - 45,000 per month, depending on location of job.
After 2 years, students are equipped with a real time perspective that qualifies them to grow in the development sector by climbing up the managerial ladder in government as well as private sector initiatives like CSR, Non Profit Organisations, etc.
The course offers experience of grass root reality in rural areas through field exposure visits and internships. These will boost your resume. The tag of being part of the NIRDPR, helps with career prospects. It is suggested that you opt for the two year course, as it is less hectic and provides learning with an unbiased perspective.
If you are interested in pursuing a degree in human resources management from one of the top B schools in India, you may want to consider SCMHRD. This institute is known for its strong reputation in the field of HR and can provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this competitive industry. On the other hand, if you are primarily interested in obtaining an IIM degree, then IIM Ranchi may be a good option for you. While IIM Ranchi is considered to be one of the best among the newer IIMs, it may not have the same level of prestige or reputation as some of the more established institutes.
If your primary goal is to increase your chances of being placed in a top company and obtaining a high salary package in the field of HR, then SCMHRD may be a more suitable choice. It is important to carefully consider your goals and priorities before making a decision on which business school to attend.
IIM Ranchi has Sectional as well as Overall cutoff. The cutoff for 1st Stage of Shortlisting is decided by the Candidate’s Valid Scores in the CAT Examination. While for the Final Selection, CAT Percentile, Performance in Personal Interviews followed by Academic & Gender Diversity is considered.
There is a huge weightage on work experience. This is because I have seen instances where freshers were rejected despite a 99 percentile while people with experience of 2-3 years were selected despite 90-93 percentile.
