My JEE Mains general AIR is 16927, I got CSE in IIIT Sri city in 2nd round counselling. Is it surely good to opt for it or not?
Your choice depends on your expectations from your desired college. IIIT Sri City is quite a decent college except for its location.
- The faculty here is outstanding and highly qualified. They’re very cooperative and would provide you with proper guidance.
- Coming to the location, it makes the days gloomy as there are no proper corners for hanging out and refreshing yourself after a tiring day at college.
- Some of the extra-curriculums organized by the college are bicycle rides, kayaking, and trekking.

IIIT Sri City is a decent option. However, with your rank, you can convert to other colleges too, such as NIT Patna, Hamirpur, IIITDM Jabalpur. So, cover all your options and choose according to your convenience.
Should I join IIITDM Jabalpur or IIIT Guwahati for CSE?
There are numerous factors to consider before enrolling in any institute.
In terms of curriculum, it is assumed that the CSE curriculum at IIIT Guwahati is on par with that of any other institute of national importance. Many of the seniors landed good jobs in MNCs, and despite the location taboo, they were able to find suitable placements.
Because Jabalpur is in Central India, more companies will undoubtedly visit the campus. However, you are aware that they are also in the design and management fields. In contrast, the IIT Guwahati curriculum is completely different from theirs in that regard (it includes courses such as optimization techniques which IIITDM does not possibly have). In CSE, a greater emphasis is placed on software development and machine learning. So if you want to be in the middle of nature, join IIIT Guwahati. Whoever said this might be an immature student in their field of study, perhaps a freshman or a sophomore.
It is recommended to compare the faculty research areas and qualifications in both institutes as well as the infrastructure, placement record, and curriculum. Then you'll be able to choose which type of institute you want to attend.
What should I take: computer science, IIT Ropar, or production and industrial engineering, IIT Delhi?
Both IIT Delhi and IIT Ropar are highly reputable institutes in India, and both have strong programs in production industrial engineering and computer science engineering, respectively. However, if I were in your place, I would have chosen IIT Delhi Production and Industrial Engineering. Here are some strong points supporting my stance
- Location : Located in the capital city, IIT Delhi offers great access to coaching institutes for preparation for IAS, IES, GATE, or any other competitive exams. This won’t be possible at IIT Ropar.
- Reputation: IIT Delhi's Overall ranking by NIRF is 3 out of 200 colleges in India in 2023 while that of IIT Ropar is 33 out of 200 colleges in India in 2023.
- Reputation: IIT Delhi is not just an institute it’s a brand that every recruiter and student is aware of.
- Curriculum: IIT Delhi Production and Industrial Engineering has courses similar to Mechanical students so the job opportunities are also similar. Additionally, you can learn some management skills through subjects like industrial engineering subjects Quality control, Operations research, Production planning, and control, etc
- Placements: IIT Delhi has a track record of excellent placements way better than IIT Ropar. It can further be understood through the table below

Considering everything, IIT Delhi is a better option than IIT Ropar. The opportunities, brand name, and academic environment you will have access to will be unmatched. However, if you have a specific inclination towards the CS branch and want to pursue a career in the same, you can also consider joining IIT Ropar as the CS branch has diverse job opportunities even for the average students.
Which is better for CSE, IIIT Guwahati or NIT Andhra Pradesh?
You can opt for NIT Andhra Pradesh. Now, you may be hesitant about choosing it because it is 2 years younger than IIIT Guwahati. But NIT Andhra Pradesh has both a very good location and faculty. The location of your institute matters since there are few companies that clearly do not visit the North East for placements. Even though IIIT Guwahati does not qualify to be at a very remote location, you will definitely have better options at NIT Andhra Pradesh.

The 2 years gap does not necessarily make noticeable differences, but the location does. For example, NIT Goa is only 7 years old but still has notable placement stats only because of its favorable location. So, if you want to enroll in IIIT, then either IIIT, Trichy, or Sri City can be considered better than IIIT Guwahati. IIIT Guwahati also had poor placements for CSE in recent years.
The final decision is yours, but NIT Andhra is definitely a better choice.
Which is better: IT from NSIT, IT from DTU, or CSE from IIIT Delhi?
IT from NSIT is the best option among these.
- The student crowd is brilliant. It has a small batch size compared to DTU. So, you will face less competition.
- NSIT has an amazing pool of faculties. You will get to learn from excellent faculty members like Sangeeta Sabharwal and MPS Bhatia.
- NSIT IT placements are better than DTU and IIIT D. DTU has a better placement record for core branches. While NSIT offers better placements opportunities to CS and IT students. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC for IT at NSIT was INR 6 LPA.
- Companies like Facebook, Google hire students from NSIT from their US offices.
- Major consulting and non-tech companies like Bain, BCG, ZS Associates, etc. also visit the campus placements.
IIIT Delhi has an excellent research culture and professors from top universities like Carnegie Mellon. So, if you are interested in research, you should choose IIIT D. Overall IT from NSIT is the best option in terms of academics and placements.
What should I choose between IIT Roorkee electrical or IIT Bhubaneswar CSE in terms of placement and future prospects?
In this case, Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee would be a better option. The only exception being that you have an inclination towards studying CSE.
IIT Roorkee enjoys a strong national and international reputation. While IIT Bhubaneswar is growing and gaining recognition, it can’t yet match the established reputation of IIT Roorkee. The strong alumni network of IIT Roorkee provides significant advantages in terms of mentorship, networking and job opportunities. Additionally, Electrical Engineering provides a solid foundation for higher studies and research.

CSE is a highly known branch with numerous opportunities in the tech industry, and placements for CSE are generally strong. But the newer IITs do not attract as many top-tier companies for placements as old IITs like IIT Roorkee.
In conclusion, I would suggest you choose Electrical Engineering at IITR over CSE at IIT BBSR.
Which is a better choice, IT in VSSUT Burla or CSE in IGIT Sarang?
VSSUT Burla is a much better option than IGIT Sarang. VSSUT, Burla - Being the Oldest engineering institute in the state, has some of the best faculty, a huge library, and a wide-spread Alumni net.
Discussed below are a few important points about VSSUT Burla.
- For any branch, VSSUT will be a better option, since it has better placement records, campus infrastructure, clubs, and the cutoff rank is also higher.
- Most importantly it's autonomous so it has its own examinations and curriculum.
- If you have any problem regarding something you can directly get in contact with the Vice-Chancellor at VSSUT Burla.

One of my cousins was in the same situation, whether to choose VSSUT or IGIT, and he chose VSSUT. If you look up the statistics you will clearly see VSSUT is much better than IGIT.
Which is better, IIEST Shibpur for civil engineering or IIIT Raipur for CSE?
There is no comparison between IIIT Raipur and IIEST Shibpur for Engineering. IIEST Shibpur is a much older and well established college than IIIT Raipur. Being a student of IIEST Shibpur myself, I can confidently say that the college is much superior when it comes to engineering.
- IIEST offers decent placements due to its strong alumni network and reputation among people.
- According to recent placement statistics, many top recruiters visited during the placement drive including Microsoft, Vedanta, Wipro, Cognizant, Godrej, HSBC Technologies, and many others giving the highest package of INR 39 LPA.
- Lastly, we can say that though IIIT Raipur may be known for its brand it does not stand on the same ranking as the old engineering departments of IIEST.

They produce many well-qualified students in different fields and provide them with many facilities along with placements and even good opportunities for higher studies and research.
Is computer science at Nirma University a good option?
Whether Nirma University will be a good option or not depends on what other options you have.
If you are not getting admission at DAIICT (at ICT with CS) or SVNIT, particularly if you are from Gujarat, then you can certainly go for Nirma. These colleges are a tier above Nirma. DAIICT offers an average package of around 12 LPA.
However, Nirma University also offers a decent CSE program. Here is a brief overview of the CSE program offered by the institute.

So, there are better options than Nirma for a CSE course, however, if you are not getting admission at these institutes, Nirma will be a good alternative.
Which will be the best college for CSE, VIT Bhopal, VIT AP, RGPV, or LNCT?
Having read some reviews online about these universities, I can say that, for CSE, among VIT Bhopal, VIT AP, RGPV, or LNCT - VIT Bhopal is a better option.
- The faculty members are highly experienced and cooperative.
- Some of them have PhDs and 10-15 years of educational experience.
- The student gets to learn a lot from the experienced faculty members.
- The infrastructure of VIT Bhopal is also good. They provide students with all the necessary facilities.
- The labs are well equipped with modern equipment and updated machinery.
- The placements here are equally good.
