Is the EXTC at KJ Somaiya good for placements?
KJ Somaiya has a great bunch of professors and well-equipped laboratories. They have pretty amazing placement records. Electronics and Telecommunication engineering placements are as good as that of CSE and IT branches at KJSCE.

Which is better purely in terms of placement, XLRI BM or HRM?
Although choosing a course just based on placement records is not a good idea, there are some insights you must know before deciding.
- Placement is for the first job which you might do for 2–3 years while your career will span for 30–35 years. You should choose what you feel you want to be doing.
- You must have heard that HR roles offer you better work-life balance but it might not be true in every case. It depends a lot on the company, your manager, and your role. If work-life balance is your criteria, you might feel a shock when you join a company. HR might not have business targets but you may face other pressures.

To be very honest, it is not a tough task to get a high-paying job in a top IT company if you have completed your B.Tech from IIIT-Allahabad. One thing you should keep in mind is that brands are just a stepping stone in your career journey and not the main factor. These institutes have been able to establish the brand name mainly because of where their alumni have reached now. So brands are helpful in the short run only.

No institute can work properly without a proper cordial relationship among these. I know a few people from the institute so I know a little bit about the institute. St. Xavier's University is not a good university for business management courses and the placements here are not very good.
- For the academic year 2020, companies like Deloitte, EY came here for placements but the package offered is very less with an average package of around 3.5 - 4.2 LPA. And the roles for which the students are hired are not even required MBA specialization.
- The placement officer at the institute is not very cooperative. The management also told the students who were opting for HR that there won't be enough jobs available and they won't be responsible for it.
- The MBA students have to appear for interviews with the same group of B.Com, Eco Hons, Eco M.A, BMS students instead of paying higher fees of almost three times and the hostel fees which are compulsory too. The course cost around 14 lakhs.
Instead of joining St. Xavier's University with such high fees and poor academics and placements, it is better to choose any other business school with good placements.

Make connections with seniors who are already working in product-based companies and try to get internships through referrals. You should not wait until the third year to start an internship; learn C/C++/Java, DS, and Algo and you'll be ready to start an internship at any product-based company. Microsoft held an off-campus event, but it does not count because it occurred only once.
In terms of the CTC, it is determined by the year and the organization.
