Which will be better, a 4-year CS course (starting this year) at IIITM Gwalior, CS at IIITDM Jabalpur, or Electrical at MANIT Bhopal?
A 4-year CSE from IIITDM Jabalpur will be better than that of IIIT Gwalior. It is a fairly new branch at the institute and students of this branch compete with 5-year IPG steam students which are the main ruler of the institute.

In case you want to choose Chemical only to switch to some other branch later on, make sure to maintain good grades in your first year. However, at the same time, research on the opportunities in Chemical Engineering. You might not get a branch switch. How was your first day at MANIT Bhopal?
I completed my B.Tech CSE from MANIT in 2018. So my first day at MANIT Bhopal was a long while ago. However, the memories of that day are still fresh in my mind.
This is how that day went-
We had to stay at the Faculty Guest House (FGH) as the rooms of H1 and H2 were completely filled. It was a pleasant day, and the weather was cool. Neither was it raining, nor was it humid.
We reached the college auditorium for the Orientation Program in a queue. The director addressed us, and congratulated us on getting into one of the premiere institutes of India. After that, we went for a department visit. Our reactions were mixed. We were happy with certain things, and completely taken aback by others.
It was a memorable day, and I’ll forever cherish the first day I entered my alma mater.
Which one should I prefer: IIIT Allahabad dual, IIIT Amethi IT, SGSITS (Indore) ME, or MANIT Civil?
First of all, forget about SGSITS Indore as it stands nowhere in front of IIIT and MANIT. If you are looking for good placement and salary then forget MANIT Civil too. The only options you are now left with are - IIIT Allahabad dual and IIIT Amethi IT. Clearing things about IIIT Amethi, it has been closed and have been moved to IIIT Allahabad.

There is no point in spending extra two years pursuing M.Tech at IIIT Allahabad because if you are interested in a PG Degree then you can prepare for GATE during UG. Doing so will get you admission at any IITs which would be better for your career.
It is better to go for IIIT Allahabad and if you feel to go for PG then prepare, get a good score and go for IITs. Otherwise, you can always go for placements and will probably land up a very good job.
How is electrical engineering in MANIT Bhopal?
As an alumnus of MANIT Bhopal, I will try to shed some light on the Electrical department of my college-
- Faculty- The regular faculty (professors) is quite good and supportive. The professors are amiable in nature, and always there for the students. But some of them are short-tempered.
- Placement Scenario- The placements completely depend on company requirements, so they can’t be deemed good or bad. Around 60 companies visit the department every placement season. The placement percentage drops and rises according to the vacancies in the firms for that particular year. Also, as the Electronics branch has strengthened its hold, Electrical placements have received a setback.
- Facilities- The lab facilities are poor, but the management is good. It is the only department with fixed rules and regulations.
Overall, Electrical Engineering is a decent option, and you’ll enjoy your stay at MANIT Bhopal.
Which is better for CS, IIIT Allahabad or NIT Bhopal?
