SC
Sharanya Chaubey Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology (2019)

If you have a few concerns regarding the placement of the department of Chemical Engineering, I have mentioned the following details, after researching about it online.

  • Not many core companies visit Haldia Institute of Technology for chemical engineering.
  • My friend who recently graduated however believes that the institute offers ample opportunities t in reputed companies via the on-campus recruitment drives organized every year.
  • Some core companies that have recruited chemical engineers at HIT include Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd., Adani Wilmar, Topcem Cement, Praxair, S.G. Biogas, Wacker, IR Chemicals and many more.
  • The students of chemical engineering are also eligible to participate in the recruitment process of mass recruiting IT companies like Wipro, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra.
  • Few opportunities in the sales department of companies like Berger, and Amazon are also there for interested candidates.
  • These two firms do not recruit directly via the on-campus recruitment drives of HIT but they offer chances to students with the help of a Pool Campus recruitment drive.
  • Some students also get recruited by companies like Santa Biotech, Omics, and Ericson.
Categories Chemical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology
Placement Percentage 70-80%
Highest CTC 12 LPA
Average CTC 5-6 LPA

If you refer to the recent data of placements for the Haldia Institute of Technology then you would observe that there are several opportunities available for you especially in the department of Chemical Engineering. All these things would depend upon your capabilities and knowledge about the field of Chemical Engineering.

What is it like to be in ECE branch at NIT Warangal/ Surathkal/Calicut? How is the campus life and placements (companies visiting, kind of jobs, average packages)?

AR

I have a friend who studies in the ECE branch at NIT Warangal. I will break down his overall experience into simpler aspects

Academics: The curriculum and academic life at NIT Warangal for ECE students is a bit more challenging than others. Some semesters have too many courses and it’s difficult to get free time. The grades are given a lot of importance and students face tough competition. Also, the faculty is not very approachable.

  • Campus life: The campus life of students of all branches is similar. Equal opportunities and facilities are offered and students experience a productive ambiance where they can work on their passions.
  • Hostels : The hostel facilities are top-notch and both old and new hostels are available. Students get a home-like feel in these cozy buildings and make friends for life.
  • Mess food: Mess food is better than food served in intermediate hostels. However, students can opt for eating out if the food in the mess is unsatisfactory. The eateries outside serve decent food at low prices.
  • Sports : The sports culture here is not very prominent and you won’t be forced to be involved in any such activities.
  • Extracurricular : A number of clubs promote extracurriculars with ECEA being the most active association.
  • Peer group: Your batchmates will be the most hardworking and smartest people in the institute so peer group quality should be the last thing to worry about.
  • Placements : Both core and non-core placement opportunities are offered to ECE students. Here are the detailed stats for the same

Placement Percentage

90%

Students Placed

135

Highest CTC

INR 52.89 LPA

Lowest CTC

INR 7 LPA

Median CTC

INR 21.4 LPA

Average CTC

INR 23.6 LPA

NIT Warangal ECE is a great choice in terms of job and academic opportunities. So try to maintain a good GP to avail the maximum benefits.

Is there any placement skill training in Heritage Institute of Technology?

AB
Arunabha Basu Posted On : September 27th, 2021
Studied at XLRI School of Business & Human Resources

Yes, there is. There will be multiple rounds of training, from the first year, you will get soft skills training, until the beginning of final placements in September of the seventh semester, when the college conducts particularly focused Group Discussion and Personal Interview Training.

At the starting of the 7th semester, there are special classes organized by the training & placement office of HITK and grooming sessions for getting specific skills that are helpful during placement. Heritage does have a Training and Placement Cell, and based on what I've heard from seniors, they do teach you in your final semesters so that you can succeed in things like Computer Programming, Written Aptitude, GDPI (group discussion and personal interview), and eventually obtain a decent job.

Does every student at NIT in the CSE branch get a placement of more than 20 lakhs, specifically at MNNIT Allahabad?

RS
Rishav Sinha Posted On : November 28th, 2023
Studied at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad

You must be unaware of the ground reality of college placements.

No institute can guarantee a certain package to its graduating students. Let alone NITs, even the best CSE colleges (IIITH, IITB, etc.) can not guarantee anything during placement season. 20 Lakhs is a big amount in India, and even the best CS colleges don’t have an average package of 20 LPA (rather the figure is around 8-10 LPA). Very few students get a package close to 20 LPA.

Do not get confused by the average package of premier institutes, as many of them convert international offers into Indian Rupees while making those calculations. Doing so makes the average package very high. These packages look high, but are very basic in relation to the living cost of the respective foreign cities. The same logic applies to MNNIT Allahabad, or any other NIT.

Instead of focusing on the placement figures, choose a college with a good environment and high growth opportunities. MNNIT is a good choice for CSE, and it has a good record overall.
