Which is good in terms of placement and overall academics: LNCT Bhopal or LPU Jalandhar?
I am an alumnus of LPU, but my honest opinion is based on my personal experience. LPU offers good infrastructure, faculty, academics, and placements. Though placements depend on the students’ effort and dedication, it is also a college’s responsibility to bring in good companies.
IBM, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Maruti, Larsen & Toubro, DLF, Nokia Siemen, Indian Navy, HDFC Bank, Ranbaxy, Royal Bank of Scotland, Tata, Wipro, Accenture, Convergys, Reliance, Dell, Taj Hotels, Provogue, Nestle, Coca Cola, Barclays, Deloitte, etc. are some of the companies that visit the LPU campus for hiring.
Moreover, LPU is positioned 50th in the NIRF 2023 Engineering Rankings.
Based on all these reasons, and out of my own positive experience of studying at LPU, I would recommend the university for higher studies.
Which is better, IIT Dhanbad or MNNIT Allahabad for an M.Tech in CSE in terms of placement?
Both IIT Dhanbad and MNNIT Allahabad are at the same level when it comes to MTech placements in CSE. Most companies visiting IIT Dhanbad for placements also visit and offer similar profiles to students of MNNIT Allahabad. However, the kind of roles you receive depends more on individual skills and profiles.
Nevertheless, IIT Dhanbad has a slight edge over MNNIT Allahabad because of its IIT tag which proves to be beneficial in shaping your career and opening multiple doors for you. As for the placements,
- MNIT MTech CSE placements recorded a total of 42-43 students getting placed. The CS placements were third highest after Mechanical and Electronics.
- IIT Dhanbad only had 5 students in its MTech program last year out of which 2 opted out and the median package was INR 14 LPA
Ultimately make the decision on the basis of your personal inclinations and preferences like location, proximity to home, and brand value.

Computer Science & Technology is a stream that has continuously upgraded its placements year after year making it more preferable be it in undergraduate courses or post-graduate ones.

Only a limited number of students secure placement offers while pursuing the course concerning Architecture. But, if you have the skills and a good academic record, then you are more likely to secure a better placement than others.

IIT Hyderabad offers M. Tech in three specializations

The specialization you have chosen for MTech determines the job opportunities that will be available to you. NIT Jalandhar is conducting its placement drive for the batch 2022 and there was an increase in the Average CTC which increased to INR 11.87 LPA from INR 8.5 LPA and the Highest CTC stood at INR 62 LPA. Till now 17 companies participated in the placement drive & 162 students were placed.

Here are some of the basic tips for placements.
- You must not have backlogs as this is the first criteria for most of the companies. Few MNCs are an exemption where they allow a maximum of 2 backlogs.
- You should have decent communication skills. Your English should be enough for them to understand clearly. You don’t have to be fluent in it.
- Keep your basics strong in the areas of your interest.
- Practice and spend time improving your skills in the months before placements.
