Pursuing MBA in any branch from any of the given colleges will give you the best curriculum and environment to grow and upskill yourself. The placement reports of these colleges are scaling recently. MBA in Finance is one among any of these that would be a great opportunity to grab and K J Somaiya will be a great option.

One of my cousins pursued Finance from K J Somaiya and he told me that good companies come for summer and final placements and offer a good package for finance people.

What was your placement experience at Thapar University?

AM
Agnish Mukherjee Posted On : August 3rd, 2023
BE from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology

My brother shared his placement experience at Thapar University. He got a break of one month prior to placement season. This break was meant for preparing for the interviews and gave him enough time to work on his aptitude, coding, and other technical skills. He was inclined towards core profile jobs so he focused mainly on aptitude and technical skills.

  • The first interview he sat for was TCS Digital but he failed to clear its written test.
  • Next came Varroc of which his written test went very well, but sadly they didn't select anyone from his branch.
  • For Asian paints, he managed to clear the written round but failed in the group discussion round
  • After this, he appeared for around 4–5 IT/Software companies but failed to clear the rounds.
  • After this, Capgemini had 2 written rounds which he cleared easily but his interview was postponed.
  • The next day he heard that Reliance was also coming. It was his dream to get selected there but he wasn’t sure if he could reject Capgemini for Reliance.
  • He decided to try his luck and went for Reliance Industries Ltd. He cleared the written test and the interview as well.

He managed to make it into his dream company when all other companies had rejected him!

What is the scope in chemical engineering at BIT, Mesra in terms of placement and package?

Ankita Rakshit Posted On : February 24th, 2024

Though BIT Mesra is a highly renowned engineering college, I would advise against joining any other branch at it except for CS/IT. The other branches are not very good placement-wise, especially when BIT Mesra is such a renowned college.

Core companies do visit the Chemical department for placements, recruiting a decent number of students each year. Apart from them, few Analytics firms and IT companies also recruit from the department. These IT companies include Infosys and Cognizant. Some of the department students clear exams like CAT or GATE, and as a result, go for higher studies/PSUs.

In 2022, from B.Tech Chemical Engineering (excluding Plastic and Polymer), 34 out of 45 students were successfully placed from the campus (43 were eligible for placements). The lowest CTC was 4 LPA, the average CTC was 8.44 LPA, the median CTC was 8.10 LPA, and the highest CTC was 12.84 LPA during these placements.

Thus, BIT Mesra is not a very good choice for Chemical Engineering in terms of placements.
