How are NIT Trichy hostels?
The NIT Trichy campus is covered in greenery and located away from the main city. Because of this, the campus weather is comparatively pleasant. The common mode of transportation for students within the campus are bicycles. No powered vehicles, including motorcycles are allowed for students.
Boys are strictly prohibited from entering the girls’ hostels. Fresher boys are allotted double and triple sharing rooms in one of the four hostels (Garnet A,B,C- double sharing rooms, Agate- triple sharing rooms). Garnet C does not have a proper water filter, so try avoiding that hostel.
The campus is ragging free, and senior boys are not allowed inside fresher hostels. All the fresher hostels are decent. The hostellers of NITT have access to free wifi. The second year hostels are the same as fresher hostels, but they have lifts. There are three hostels for 2nd year boys.
The hostel facility is thus, quite decent at NIT Trichy.

NIT Trichy hostels are decent. The institute has 22 boys’ and 6 girls’ hostels. There are single, double, and triple accommodations available. All basic amenities are available in the hostels. Students are provided with a bed, cupboard, desk, and chair. Water coolers are attached outside of the hostel wing. The hostels are wi-fi enabled. The wi-fi speed is good.

NIT Trichy is located in a remote location away from the cities. The campus is beautiful and has a lot of trees around. The environment is very pleasant and you will love the campus.
Following are the details regarding NIT Trichy’s hostel:
- First-year students are allocated Garnet A, Garnet B, Garnet C hostels with 2 people per room, and Agate hostel which has 3 people per room.
- It would be better if you do not opt for Garnet C as it does not have a proper water filter.
- Girls have a separate hostel where boys are strictly prohibited.
- Seniors are not allowed to enter the hostels as it is a ragging-free campus. Each hostel has its garden and a badminton court and is provided with free Wi-Fi.
- You will not be allowed to ride motorbikes or any vehicle inside the campus. The area is large enough and you will be allowed to use a bicycle.
- Boys have their curfew from 9:30 PM to 5 AM. Girls have a curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM.
- Hostels namely Aquamarine A, B, C allocated to the 2nd year students. These hostels have four floors and a lift.
Each room has one window, two cupboards, a single door, two fans, two tube lights, two tables and two chairs, and two beds. Every floor has a common room which is equipped with a TV and three ACs.
