NIT Trichy Placements 2022: Average Package: INR 6.5 LPA & Highest Package: INR 42 LPA
National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli popularly known as NIT Trichy is conducting its placement drive for the batch 2020-22 and despite of the pandemic 90% of the Undergraduate and 80% of the Postgradute students were placed. During Placements 2021, 86.5% of the UG batch & 83.3% of the PG batch got placed. M.Tech VLSI, VSE & N.D.T batches achieved 100% placements.
A total of 283 recruiters visited NIT Trichy campus during its PG placement drive. Some of the prominent recruiters are HCL, Godrej, Texas Instruments, Morgan Stanley, Google, Honeywell. Every Year around 500 companies participate in the placement process.
In the placement drive of 2020, 92% students from UG courses and 87.1% students from PG courses were placed. The Average Salary stood at INR 6 LPA & the Highest Salary stood at INR 42 LPA.

The placement percentage for almost all the UG branches declined in 2021 as compared to the previous years. Only the placement percentage of B.Tech CSE students remained the same (98.8%) as it was last year.

During the 2021 placement drive, the placement percentage increased for the MBA, M.Tech VLSI, N.D.T, E.E, M.S, W.E, T.E.M students. The placement percentage drastically declined for the M.Tech T.P.E, Environment, M.Tech Chemical, M.Tech S.E, M.Tech P.E, students.

What is salary of Electrical Enginners from NIT Trichy?
NIT Trichy does not release official branch-wise statistics so I contacted my friends there to get an idea of the salary offered to Electrical Engineering students from NIT Trichy. The first friend claimed the placement percentage of the branch to be around 92.4% with the highest salary package offered at around 45 LPA and the average salary package offered in the range of 6.5 LPA-20 LPA. He claimed that the top recruiting companies were Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and DE Shaw.
Another friend offered a similar insight into the placement scenario of Electrical Engineering at NIT Trichy. He claimed the highest package to be 40 LPA whereas the lowest salary package offered to be around 5 LPA, and the average salary package around 10 LPA. He further stated that 60-70% of students were offered internships.
It’s important to note that Electrical Engineering students are not placed only in the core sector but also in the software, marketing, and digital graphic sector. So ultimately the salary one will be receding depends upon one's capability, skills, and interests.
How are the placements at NIT Trichy for an MCA and what is the fee structure?
Every year about 98% of the total MCA batch gets placed. In 2023, the highest package was INR 50 LPA. The average package was 15 LPA. The minimum package range was around 8 LPA to 10 LPA.
The tuition fee for this course is INR 2,10,000. You will also have to pay a one-time admission fee of INR 34,700. If you are planning to stay at the hostel, you will have to pay an additional INR 96,400.

- Non-Destructive Testing: You can expect certain placement with packages in the range of INR 3 to 6 LPA. Students in this branch are eligible for most other companies if they have completed B.Tech in mechanical.
- Energy Engineering: An average placement of INR 7 LPA. Like NDT, you may try your luck in other companies too where B.Tech is required.
- Safety Engineering: You may be offered an average package of INR 6 LPA. The same can be said about the students who are in the Industrial Metallurgy branch.
- Welding Engineering: This branch promises certain placement and ranges from INR 4 to 7 LPA.
- Manufacturing Technology: 80% placement is guaranteed by this branch with packages of around INR 6-7 LPA offered to the students.
- IEM: The average package will be around INR 7-8 LPA with an 80% guarantee. Recent placements from this branch have not been good lately and if you are from a mechanical background purely then you will most probably not be preferred but companies dealing in analytics and management may have use for your skills.
Finally, most of the students in the civil branch are not seen in high regard for me. The placement percentage is from 50 to 70, unfortunately.
