NIT Trichy Courses Admission 2024: Cutoff, Counselling. Application, Dates

The institute offers nine specializations under the B.Tech course. The duration of the course is four years.

NIT Trichy B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must have passed his 10+2 with a minimum of 60% marks. 
• Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2.

NIT Trichy B.Tech Selection Criteria

• The initial selection is made on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main.
• If they have a valid JEE Main score, candidates are shortlisted for JoSAA counseling.

NIT Trichy BTech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

NIT Trichy JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). How to Apply for JEE Main 2023?

Candidates who are eligible for admission have to take the JEE Main. The application process is given below:

• Visit the official website of JEE- Main
• Register for the online application form
• Make a note of the system-generated application number
• Create a password
• Log in again and fill out the form
• Upload scanned images of photographs and signature
• A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

For JOSAA Counseling:

Candidates who have a positive JEE Main score have to go for JoSAA counselling. Follow these steps to register:

• Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
• Use the JEE Main application number to log in.
• Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate. 
• Click on ‘Submit changes’.
• Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.
• Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’.
• Keep a printout of the page for future reference.

The institute offers one specialization under the B.Arch course. The duration of the course is 5 years. 

NIT Trichy B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have passed his 10+2 with a minimum of 60% marks. 
• The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2.

NIT Trichy B.Arch Selection Criteria

• The initial selection is made on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main.
• If they have a positive score, candidates are shortlisted for JoSAA counselling.

NIT Trichy offers a 2 years MA program in English (Language and Literature) through its department of humanities and social sciences. The institute charges a fee of INR 1,27,950 for its entire MA English program. However, the institute does not offer any stipends to the students admitted to the MA English program. Given below are the basic eligibility and admission details for the NIT Trichy MA program.

NIT Trichy MA Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed their bachelor's degree such as BA in English Literature/ ELT/ Linguistics with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA from any recognised university and college.
• Candidates appearing in their final year examinations are also eligible to apply for the program. They will be admitted to the program on a provisional basis. 

NIT Trichy MA Selection Criteria

Selection to the NIT Trichy MA English program is based on the national level entrance exam scores. Candidates with either of the GATE/ JAM/ CUCET scores are shortlisted. Their final admission is based on the performances given by the candidates in the personal interview round. 

How to Apply?

• Interested candidates are required to visit the official website of NIT Trichy and download the information brochure for the MA English program.
• Proceed to the online application portal and fill out the application.

• Complete the payment of the application fee of INR 500 for OC/EWS/ OBC and INR 200 for SC/ST/PwD.

NIT Trichy M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have a B.Tech degree.
• The candidate should have scored 60% marks.

NIT Trichy M.Tech Selection Criteria

• The initial selection is made on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in GATE.
• After having the valid score of GATE, a candidate has to go through the CCMT counseling process.

How to apply for GATE?

Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:

• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrolment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.

CCMT Counselling:

Candidates who take the GATE will have to go for CCMT counselling. To apply, follow the given steps:

• Fill out the application form.
• Pay the registration fee of 2,200 INR (1,700 INR for reserved categories).
• Click on “I agree”.
• Start entering your choices. When it is done, lock the choices.

GATE 2023 Expected Qualifying Cutoff

GATE 2022 qualifying cutoff is the minimum mark required to register for the CCMT 2022 counselling. There is a difference between the admission cutoff of the institute and minimum cutoff required for participation in the admission process/ counselling. Given below are the minimum cutoff marks that a candidate must score to qualify the GATE examination and register for the corresponding counselling process.

NIT Trichy GATE Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

The institute offers one specialization under the MArch course i.e. Energy Efficient and Sustainable Architecture. The duration of the program is 2 years and it is available in full time mode only. NIT Trichy CAT Cut Off 2023 (Expected)

How to Apply for CAT?

Candidates who are eligible for admission to MBA have to take the CAT for selection. Follow these steps to register:

• Visit the official website.
• Click on “Registration” for new users.
• Read the given instructions.
• Fill in the necessary details to generate OTP.
• Enter the OTP and validate it.
• Check ‘I Agree’ and submit the CAT application form.
• After submitting the details, a message will be sent to the registered mobile number containing the password, and an email will be sent containing the user ID.
• After the registration is complete, a unique login ID and password will be generated.
• Click on ‘Go to Application Form’ to fill out the CAT application form.

• For General/OBC-NCL/EWS Category: INR 1550/.
• For SC/ST Category: INR 1050/.

The fee payment should be made through State Bank collect mode only.

The institute offers a 2 years MCA program in one specialization only. course. The duration of the program is 2 years. NIT Trichy MCA Selection Criteria

For selection, the candidate should have appeared for the NIMCET exam.

How to apply for NIMCET?

Candidates eligible for MCA will have to take the NIMCET for selection. The process for registering is given below:

• Candidates have to register on the NIMCET website by creating the login, password as instructed therein.
• Fill all the details on the online form.
• The last date for submitting the form is March 31.
• Candidates will have to pay a fee of 2,500 INR online.
• All the relevant documents should be uploaded along with the online application form.
• Remember the login name, email ID, password and security question till the end of the NIMCET process.

NIT Trichy M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have a B..Sc degree in the relevant discipline.
• A candidate must have secured at least 60% of marks in his/her graduation. 

NIT Trichy M.Sc. Selection Criteria

• The initial selection to the M.Sc program is offered on the basis of marks scored in IIT JAM.

NIT Trichy MSc Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

How to apply to IIT JAM?

The candidates who are eligible for studying M.Sc have to take the IIT JAM. Follow these steps to register:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email address and mobile phone number. Create a password.
• After submitting the registration form, an enrolment ID would be sent to the mobile number.
• Fill out the form. Include the details of the JAM papers and choice of JAM examination cities.
• Pay the application fee online and keep a printout for future reference.
• You can download the admit card from this portal later.

For counseling:

• Visit the website of CCMN and click on “New Registration”.
• Enter the JAM score details.
• Enter the personal details carefully.
• Click on “proceed’ to preview the filled out form.
• Create a password and click on “Submit”. An OTP will be sent to your number.
• Enter the OTP. A Permanent Identifier (PID) will be created. Once this happens, no more registration will be allowed. Use this to log on to the Candidate’s Corner from the next time onwards.

The institute offers the MS (Research) course to candidates who have a B.E/B.Tech degree with 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) in the relevant field. 

However, the selection is strictly based on GATE Score.

NIT Trichy PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to NIT Trichy Ph.D must have a Master's Degree with 60% marks in the relevant field. Eligibility criteria for some major specializations are given below:

• Department of Architecture: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Planning and Master’s degree in Architecture/Design/Planning/Building Engineering and Management/Building technology or its equivalent.
• Department of Chemical Engineering: B.E/ B.Tech. in Engineering/Technology followed by M.E./M.Tech./MS (By research)/other appropriate relevant degrees in their respective fields.
• Department of Civil Engineering: B.E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering and M.E./M. Tech. with following specialization.
• Department of Computer Applications: Masters’ degrees in Computer Applications or M.Sc. (Computer Science/OR&CA) with a qualified GATE score / UGC/ CSIR/ NBHM/ NET score. M.E./M. Tech. in Computer Science & Engg. or Data Analytics with a qualified GATE score.

NIT Trichy PhD Selection Criteria

The institute conducts written test and interview rounds for the PhD applicants. Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the written test are called for a technical and personal interview round. The PI rounds are conducted by the Departmental Research Committee comprising of HoD, all eligible research guides/supervisors, and the Dean’s nominee (observer).

How to Apply?

Applicants are requested to apply online only. Hard copy of the application is needed through proper channel from the part-time internal applicants only.

•  Applicants must fill/enter their CGPA or percentage of marks as issued by their institute/university.
• Online application once submitted by the shall be considered final and binding.
• Requests for making corrections in the online application shall not be entertained once the final submission is made.
• Additional instructions to the applicants with Integrated B. Tech.–M.Tech.
  • Dual Degree applicants are advised to fill up the ‘Academic Qualification’ option in the online application format.
    • Graduate degree: Fill up the CGPA / % Marks up to 8th Semester (year of passing: 8th Semester Examination year).
    • Post Graduate degree: Fill up the CGPA / % Marks of the 7th to 10th Semester (year of passing: 10th Semester Examination year).
• An applicant fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria can choose up to 3 departments he/she is eligible.
• Each application must accompany an application fee is NR 1000/- per department for OC/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL applicants and INR 500/- per department for SC/ST/PwD applicants.
• Applications to more than one department shall be considered only upon payment of the requisite fees for each department.
• Application fee is non-refundable.
• The fee payment (one or more departments) should be made through State Bank i-collect mode only, on or before the last date

• Applicants whose final result is awaited have to upload their latest/previous semester mark-sheet.
• Community Certificate (OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable.
• An affidavit can be uploaded for having applied in case the certificate is not yet received.
• Applicants from the Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS) need to submit an EWS certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format, if applicable.

Note: If selected, all the original documents will be verified during physical reporting for admission. If anything found wrong, applicant’s admission shall stand canceled. Fellowships/Stipends to the full-time students shall be paid post physical verification of the documents.
