NIT Trichy, Tiruchirappalli

I have only knowledge about MNIT Allahabad and IT Surathkal as I have a few friends there. 

MNNIT Allahabad

• Classes are held Monday to Friday. Saturday & Sunday is off.
• It depends on the branch you are studying as well as the year.
• In the first year, students of every branch study together and the timings are usually 9 am to 5 pm approximately 30 hours a week. 
• In the 2nd and the 3rd year, students usually have 40 hours a week. Timings for Mechanical and other core branches are  8 am to 6 pm while S/IT students don't have many classes as the curriculum mostly comprises coding so they have 25-30 hours a week
• In the final year, classes are held very rarely and students spend most of their time on projects. The classes usually last for 12-15 hours a week. 

In all, the first and the last year at MNIT Allahabad are relatively free so you can enjoy your life to the fullest.

NIT Surathkal:

• NIT Surathkal has no classes on Saturdays.
• In the first year classes take place 23 hours a week and the timings depend on individual sections between  8 am and 5 pm. The students can set their own schedule at their convenience with the assistance of the student class representative. 
• From the second year, the timings and duration of classes depend on the branch you have chosen. Usually, Mining has about 20 hours per week, CSE and ECE have around 25-28 hours per week while branches like Mechanical have up to 35 hours per week.

My brother was in the CSE branch of NIT Trichy and based on his experience, here are a few pointers:

• The professors are extremely learned and experienced and impart quality education
• The relative grading system establishes peer pressure, and as a result, there is tough competition among the students 
• IIT Roorkee is well known for its rich coding culture that is promoted by student-driven and institute funded clubs. These clubs give you additional knowledge on web designing, App development, and game development that might be useful later in
• The CSE department is one of the most coveted branches, and being a part of one will inculcate a sense of privilege.
• The hostel and campus life is decent with all necessary amenities.
• A total of 5 fests are held throughout the year and are totally funded and organized by the institute. The institute is located in an area that helps you explore nearby tourist spots like Pondicherry and Ooty.

You won’t ever regret choosing NIT CSE.

If you're trying to decide what to study at university, it can be overwhelming. You should consider CSE at NIT Trichy, instead of going to IIT Madras for metallurgy. Here are some reasons why you should choose computer science engineering:

• Don't choose a branch just for the sake of a tag: You may feel pressure to choose a certain branch of study because of the prestige associated with it, but this can be a mistake. Instead, consider your long-term career goals and what will be most beneficial to you in achieving them.
• Don't risk your career for a tag: Going for a branch just because it's considered prestigious, even if it's not the best fit for you, can be a big risk. Your career is important and you should choose something that will set you up for success in the future.
• Topping the class doesn't guarantee certainty: If you're certain you want to change your branch and you're confident you'll be able to top your class at IIT Madras, you may be considering metallurgical engineering. However, there's always a risk that you won't be able to achieve that top spot. If that happens, you'll be stuck with a degree that may not be as useful for your career goals.
