Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Product Design & Management) From IIIT Hyderabad, Hyderabad

IIIT Hyderabad MTech PDM admission 2023 will begin soon. Application forms for the same will be released on the official website - iiit.ac.in. Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE/CEED scores. For the final selection, shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. GATE 2023 exam will be conducted between February 4 and February 12, 2023, whereas the CEED 2023 will be held on January 22, 2023.

MTech Design and Management (PDM) at IIIT Hyderabad is a two-year PG program. The program has a total of 4 semesters, out of which 2 semesters are for classes and 2 semesters are for Project work. The MTech PDM program at IIIT Hyderabad is open to GATE/CEED qualified candidates. Also, the candidates with a startup idea can also apply for the program.

IIIT Hyderabad MTech (PDM) Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Design/ Science or Equivalent (4 year programme after 10+2); or 
• Masters degree in Science/ Computer Applications (2 year programme after 10+2+3) with a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade.
• GATE (2021,2022) / CEED (2022) exam score.

The main focus of the program is on ICT technology oriented product design and management. Candidates applying for admission must have at least 1 year of work experience in product development (especially ICT related products).

IIIT Hyderabad MTech (PDM) Admission Criteria

Admission to IIIT Hyderabad MTech (PDM) program is based on GATE/CEED exam scores. Candidates applying to the program have to go through the following criteria for final selection:

For CEED/GATE Qualifier

• Shortlisting will be done on basis of application
• Final Selection will be done through interview round

For Startups

• A complete startup idea is required as part of the initial screening and application forms are completed.
• As soon as the application has been thoroughly reviewed, a phone call will be conducted to verify the information provided by the applicant.
• In order to analyze startup ideas, founders' intentions, and their aptitude for business entrepreneurship, we conduct an interview.
• A startup curation process is required for candidates with prior industry experience who would like to establish a startup.

For Part-time or Sponsored candidates:

• In the application or admission process, applicants must submit a letter of sponsorship from their company (for industry sponsored candidates) during the screening process.
• Conversing over the phone with the applicant and the sponsoring organization (if necessary) to verify the forms.
• Shortlisted applicants shall be called for an interview to gauge their aptitude towards product design and management.

Given below are some requirement and regulation related to MTech PDM program:

• Minimum credits required for graduation is 66. Students are expected to register for the credits every semester as per the specified sequence. 
• Every student must complete the Design and Entrepreneurship courses in the 1st year. 
• Every student must register for two 3-credit product design courses in the 2nd semester. 
• Some students who do not have the requisite background shall be asked to take the “Software Systems Development” bridge course.
• Every student must register for 8 credits of technology/systems/open electives, which include any 400+ level CSE or ECE elective offered in the institute. 
• Electives outside of CSE and ECE programs require the approval of the program head.
