IIT Guwahati PhD Eligibility Criteria
For admission to the Ph.D. For programs in various disciplines, a candidate must satisfy the following criteria:
Computer Science and Engineering
- Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
- MSc (CS)/MSc (IT)/MCA/Equivalent Non-Tech Master’s Degrees in the relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of marks having a GATE/NET/SLET score in CS/IT.
- Candidates with a Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences or equivalent in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 or 65% of marks.

IIT Guwahati PhD Admission Procedure
Candidates who want to take admitted to the IIT Guwahati Ph.D. program must go through the admission procedure.
- Candidates should appear in a written exam conducted by the institute.
- Candidates who qualify for the written test are called for an interview.
- Candidates need to go through the interview process.
- Candidates who clear the interview round will be selected.
Entrance exams to get selected for the course are GATE and conducted by UGC- NET. Students must have got qualified marks in the exams.
