Only the top 30 students get to appear for written tests of core companies and the packages offered are in the range of 3-4 LPA. The in-hand salary is as low as 25k per month or even less.

If you have already taken civil or you are taking civil because you have no other choice, start preparing for other things. You can study advanced formulas in Excel and start preparing for CAT. Girls Hostel - Alaknanda

All the above hostels are pretty old yet well-maintained due to frequent renovations and reprints. The rooms allotted are triple occupancy. The cost is very low and can easily be afforded by everyone. The hostels have decent internet connections second only to the network provided by the CCN (Centre for Computing and Networking), which contains the main server.

Every hostel has its own mess but the food served is below average. Most of the time you will have to eat from outside despite paying monthly mess charges. 

Overall, these hostels have a good ambiance and will give you some of the best memories of your life.

Only a few core ECE companies visit NIT Kurukshetra such as Freescale, Ericsson, Reliance, Idea, etc. One needs to be among the top 20-30 and have a strong grasp of the concepts of ECE to get placed in these companies. You will face intense competition while appearing for these companies so be prepared. 

The salary range varies from company to company. Freescale offers around INR 10 LPA while most of them offer around 5–6 LPA.

NIT Kurukshetra has both IT and CS branches so the number of software companies and the job opportunities offered to students in this branch are plentiful. Anyone planning to take IT or CS shouldn't be worried about placements at all because all major IT giants visit the campus for placements.
