The Common Admission Test (CAT) can be taken by aspirants to get into the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. The application form can be found on their website (www.iimcat.ac.in). The exam consists of three sections - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning. Basis the results of the exam, respective IIMs roll out shortlists - these may vary on the candidate's profile (gender, category, work experience, past academic performance, etc.). You need to have at least 60 percent in 10th and 12th for the unreserved category and 45 percent for the reserved category. You need to write the CAT exam and get shortlisted based on percentile then write WAT and spread for an interview.

The admission process consisted of CAT, WAT, and PI. As a part of the admission process, we also had to submit an SOP and ask two references to submit a recommendation form. We don't need a LOR but we have to ask our recommendation to submit a questionnaire that has both objectives as well as open-ended questions.

The admission process started off with writing the CAT (Common Admission Test), which is admissible to all students with an undergraduate (bachelor's) degree. Once that is qualified, there is a detailed admission form that needs to be filled up, including a Statement of Purpose and recommendations. This is then followed by a Writing Assessment (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

I have given the CAT exam, and after that, most of the IIMs gave shortlists for the further process. IIM B, K, L, and CAP are the major ones. all colleges send mail regarding the application form, read the guidelines properly, and fill out the form. IIM B had a WAT process followed by an interview. During my time these 2 happened online, so they had intimated regarding the timings and the whole process went smoothly. Keeping it online made it more convenient for me.

Any candidate having a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 50% marks (Gen) is eligible for admission at IIM Bangalore. Candidates must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) to get an admission call. The calls are rolled out based on different criteria like CAT Score, 10th marks, 12th marks, UG marks, Work Ex, etc. The weightage given to each criterion changes every year. Post receiving a call, candidates need to appear for the Written Ability Test and PI Process. The WAT checks your analytical writing skills, and the PI judges your caliber. Again based on different criteria, including WAT and PI, candidates are offered admission to the course. The reservation benefits can be availed similarly to any other government institution.
