NITK Surathkal Courses Admissions 2024: Selection Criteria, Dates, Eligibility

NIT Surathkal offers B.Tech programs in nine specializations, each of them segregated into eight semesters.There is provision for direct admission to B. Tech programs under DASA for students who have completed their last qualifying exam abroad. 

NIT Surathkal B.Tech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

NIT Surathkal JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Main examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. NIT Surathkal BTech expected cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 opening and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

NIT Surathkal B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Aspirants who wish to join the B.Tech program are required to complete their 10+2 board examination with PCM from a recognized institute.
• Candidates must at least score a minimum of 50% marks in their examination.
• For SC/ST students, there is 10% relaxation in the minimum required percentile of qualifying marks in the 12th class examination.

NIT Surathkal B.Tech Selection Process

• The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will regulate the seat allocation for NIT Surathkal admission.
• With valid JEE Main or equivalent entrance examination score, a merit list shall be made category-wise, listing All India Rank (AIR) of candidates.
• Based on the rank secured, candidates are required to appear in JoSAA Counselling rounds as per their category.

How to Apply?

• Register for the JEE Main exam. 
• Enter the personal, academic details and upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph and Signature. 
• Pay the application fee through Debit card/ Credit card/ Net banking/ UPI/ PAYTM by following the online instructions.
• After successful payment, print the Confirmation Page and keep it for future reference. 

Documents Required

• Scanned copies of academic details.
• Scanned passport size photograph of the candidate in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb).
• Scanned clear signature of the candidate in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb).
• Scanned copies of Category certificate, PwD certificate, if applicable.
• A valid e-mail ID.

The institute offers an MCA programme as a PG course in full time regular mode for 3 years. Admissions to the course are done on the basis of NIMCET scores followed by counselling. 

NIT Surathkal MCA 2021 (Expected)

NIT Surathkal MCA Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates should have appeared for NIMCET.
• The candidates should have a Bachelor's degree with 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA of full time 3 years duration from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Maths as one of the subjects in any one semester/year.

NIT Surathkal MCA Selection Process 

• NIMCET is a national level exam conducted for MCA admission and with the cut off given, the candidates are selected.
• The Preference will be given to the candidate who has obtained a higher NIMCET 2021 score.
• Seat will be allotted online based on the choice and rank in NIMCET

How to Apply?

• Candidates need to login in at NIT Raipur interface for provisional admission through their NIMCET Hall Ticket Number, Date of Birth and Mobile No. 
• Upload all the documents listed. Scanned copy from Originals will be accepted, The scanning and uploading the documents should be in Portrait format. 
• After completion of the online form Click on the final declaration and Submit button.
• After successful verification at the Institute level, concerned candidates will receive a payment link in his/her registered email Id.
• After successful payment and confirmation at the institute level a provisional admission slip will be available on the candidate login Id.

The institute offers M.Tech in 10 specializations and M.Tech (Research) program for its students. The fees for the 1st year is INR 1 Lakh including the hostel accommodation and tuition fees.Postgraduate students are required to complete coursework in addition to a thesis or dissertation that entails independent research under the guidance of a faculty.

NIT Surathkal M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have completed their B. Tech in the relevant field with at least 6.5 CGPA or at least 60% marks in the aggregate.
• The candidates must have a GATE score of the past 3 years.
• SC/ST candidates must have 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks to be eligible for the program.

NIT Surathkal M.Tech Selection Process

• The CCMT regulates the joint seat allocation for NIT Surathkal admission in M.Tech.
• The candidates having GATE score will be given preference.

How to Apply?

• Register for the GATE exam through the Online Application form. 
• Enter personal login with the unique ID and password and enter personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.).
• Upload photograph, signature, and other documents like eligibility certificate, category certificate (SC/ST/PwD), as applicable.
• Enter the GATE paper (subject) and Choice of examination cities.
• Pay the application fee and submit it.
• After submission, check the status of the application form and retain the hard copy of it.

• Scanned Passport size photograph of the candidate
• A scanned signature image
• Final year students must submit a Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable)

NIT Surathkal GATE Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

The institute offers a full-time residential MBA program for a duration of 2 years. The fees for the 1st year is INR 1.3 Lakhs at NIT MBA program.An MBA course has been recently introduced by the Humanities department.

NIT Surathkal MBA Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a Recognized University with not less than 50% marks (or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 5.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system) in the aggregate.
• However, this prescribed minimum marks shall be 45% (CGPA of at least 5.0 in the 0-10 scale grading system) in the case of SC/ST.
• A candidate must have appeared in CAT/ CMAT/ MAT with a minimum cutoff of 50 percentile in order to be eligible for NIT Surathkal.

NIT Surathkal MBA Selection Process

The selection process of NIT Surathkal selection process will include the following three step process:

Step 1 - Performance of the candidate in the entrance exam (CAT/ MAT/ CMAT)

Step 2 - Performance in Group Discussion (GD)/ Written Ability Test (WAT)

Step 3 - Performance in Personal Interview

How to Apply?

• Application forms for MBA programs can be filled online by visiting www.nitk.ac.in. 
• The applicants need to register online with the portal.
• The registered candidates have to complete Online Application form and pay prescribed application fee, i.e. Rs 600 (OC/OBC/EWS) and Rs 150 (SC/ST/PWD) online before the last date.
• The hardcopy of the completed application form with payment receipts and copy of necessary documents is to be sent to the institute.

NIT Surathkal M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• Undergraduate level (minimum 50%) with the related subject as a primary subject in a B.Sc. degree from any recognized university in the country.

NIT Surathkal M.Sc Selection Process

• Admission will be done on the basis of Centralized Counseling

NIT Surathkal M.Sc Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

Postgraduate and doctoral Ph.D students are also involved as teaching assistants for undergraduate courses.Research in the institute is mainly sponsored by central and state government agencies with grants for the academic year reaching INR 10 crore.

NIT Surathkal PhD Eligibility Criteria

• M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks). At least 8.0 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (75% of marks). For graduates from IITs/NITs, the minimum CPI requirement is 7.0 (on a 10 point scale).
• A Master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent (60% of marks).

NIT Surathkal PhD Selection Process

• Admission will be based on the entrance examination and interview conducted by NIT. 
• CSIR or CBSE NET/JRF qualified candidates will be exempted from the entrance examination
