Academic Requirement 

Graduates of any discipline with good academic record can apply for the admission to the MA in Linguistics programme of our Department. Typically, we get students with BA/MA in Indian and foreign languages such as Marathi, Sanskrit, English; BA/MA in sociology, psychology, mass media and journalism, economics; BSc/MSc in mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science; BTech; BComm etc.

In addition, every candidate has to clear a written Entrance Test (with minimum 40% score) set by the Department. The Entrance Test is designed to test a candidate’s analytic ability, pattern recognition skills and reasoning capacity as well as her/his awareness of the linguistic scenario in India.

Candidate will be selected on the basis of Merit and/or Entrance Test.
