Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.} From NEHU, Shillong

North Eastern Hill University offers nine courses at UG level which include BA, B.Sc, BA LLB (Hons) as its flagship programmes. The university also provides the option of distance learning for Certificate, Diploma and B.Ed (Special Education) courses.

Note- 5 year BA LLB (Honors) course fee – INR 20,650/

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have passed 10+2 in any discipline from a recognized board are considered eligible to get admission in BA/ B.Sc. courses.
• Students who have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks are considered eligible for BA LLB (Honors) course.
• Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible to get admission in B.Ed. program.
• 30% seats in each course are reserved for the Open category, 50% for SC/ ST candidates, 3% for Physically Disabled, and 10% for NEHU Employees children/ spouse.
• The university reserves seats forwards of Ex-servicemen, outstanding sports person and the economically backward domicile of Meghalaya.

Selection Criteria

• Admission in BA/ BSc/ B.Ed. course is given on the basis of candidates’ merit in the qualifying examination.
•  BA LLB admission is done through the written test conducted by the department. Admission shall be made according to the merit list prepared by the department based on the performance of candidates in a written test conducted by the department, subject to the fulfillment of all other criteria.

The standard of admission test, if any, shall be of class 12 (10 +2 system) or its equivalent. The test will be of 2-hour duration with multiple choice/objective/short answer type questions and shall cover broadly four areas: General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude.
