NEHU Admission 2024: UG, PG, Courses, Eligibility, Application Form, Last Date To Apply

NEHU offers a Full-Time B.Tech course in various specializations. The program is offered in regular mode for 4 years.

B.Tech Specializations are as follows:

1. Electronics and Communication Engineering
2. Biomedical Engineering
3. Energy Engineering
4. Information Technology

The number of seats available for admission to the course shall be sixty.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have done 10+2 in Science stream or its equivalent with 45% marks in PCM taken together from a recognized board.
• The University gives 5% relaxation to the students who belong to the SC/ST category.
• Candidates will have to qualify Jee Mains to secure admission in B.Tech.

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for B.Tech admission is based on marks scored in JEE Mains 2023. Candidates with valid JEE Main scores are admitted to B.Tech course

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates shall be eligible for admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s Degree programme in Architecture if she/he has secured a minimum of at least 50% marks in aggregate at the Higher Secondary or equivalent (10+2) level with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects of the examination. OR 10+3 years diploma recognized by the Central/State Government or its designated authority with the minimum of at least 50% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects of the examination during the course of study.

• A valid score in National Aptitude Test of Architecture (NATA).

Selection Criteria

For Selection in B.Arch. at NEHU, following are the requirements:

• 50% marks assigned to the qualifying academic result.
• 50% marks assigned to scores obtained from National Aptitude Test of Architecture (NATA).

North Eastern Hill University offers nine courses at UG level which include BA, B.Sc, BA LLB (Hons), B Com, BCA, BBA, BSW, BTTM as its flagship programmes. The university also provides the option of distance learning for Certificate, Diploma and B.Ed (Special Education) courses.

Note- 5 year BA LLB (Honors) course fee – INR 20,650/

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have passed 10+2 in any discipline from a recognized board are considered eligible to get admission in BA/ B.Sc. courses.
• Students who have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks are considered eligible for BA LLB (Honors) course.
• Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible to get admission in B.Ed. program.
• 30% seats in each course are reserved for the Open category, 50% for SC/ ST candidates, 3% for Physically Disabled, and 10% for NEHU Employees children/ spouse.
• The university reserves seats forwards of Ex-servicemen, outstanding sports person and the economically backward domicile of Meghalaya.

Selection Criteria

• Admission in BA/ BSc/ B.Ed. course is given on the basis of candidates’ merit in the qualifying examination and CUET exam score.
•  BA LLB admission is done through the written test conducted by the department. Admission shall be made according to the merit list prepared by the department based on the performance of candidates in a written test conducted by the department, subject to the fulfillment of all other criteria.

The standard of admission test, if any, shall be of class 12 (10 +2 system) or its equivalent. The test will be of 2-hour duration with multiple choice/objective/short answer type questions and shall cover broadly four areas: General English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have done B.E/B.Tech in an allied discipline with 60% marks.
• Candidates will have to qualify GATE or entrance exam to secure admission in M.Tech.

Selection Criteria

For M.Tech, admission is given based on valid GATE score OR marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the concerned department and merit in the qualifying examination.

MA, MSc, M.Com, MCA, , M.Ed., MTTM, LLM, PGPD-SEDE courses are offered at the PG level by North-Eastern Hill University.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline with minimum 55% marks(45% for ST/SC candidates) are considered eligible for MA, M.Sc, MJMC, M.Com, MBA, MTTM, M.LISc and PGPD-SEDE courses.
• The minimum eligibility requirement of M.Ed. program is B.Ed. with minimum 55% marks. All SC/ST candidates are eligible for the relaxation of 5%.
• Those who have done LLB with minimum 55% marks (50% for the reserved category) are eligible to apply for LLM admission.  
• Similarly, for MCA program candidates with BCA/ BSc (CS/ IT) or any equivalent degree with at least 50% (45% for SC/ ST category) marks and have studied Mathematics at 10+2/ Degree level are considered eligible.

• The university reserves 30% seats in each course for open category, 50% for SC/ ST category, 3% for physically challenged candidates, 10% for the wards and spouses of NEHU employees, 7% university quota for Backward domicile of Meghalaya, sports person, wards/ widows of armed force personnel, ex-servicemen.
• Admission to Kashmiri Migrants, Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, and Foreign students is given against supernumerary seats through the Central Committee for Admission of Foreign Students.

Selection Criteria

• Admission to MA, M.Sc, M.Ed., MJMC, M.Com and PGPD-SEDE is given on the basis of the candidates’ merit in the qualifying examination and CUET PG scores.
• For M.LIB.I.Sc Selection will be based on admission test of 50 marks and relevant NEHU criteria.Candidates with a 3-year degree course (Majors) in any subject securing an aggregate of 50% (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST).
• MTTM courses admission is done considering the score obtained in MAT and performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
• Admission to MCA and LLM courses is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination, group discussion and personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates have to clear graduation with min. 50% marks are eligible
• Candidates will have to qualify the MAT exam to secure their admission.

Selection Criteria

MBA course admission is done considering the score obtained in MAT and performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

The university offers M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses at the doctoral level with 3 and 18 specializations respectively.

The University offers an M.Phil program in English, Political Science and History. The applicants for the M.Phil program are required to score 55% marks or with a minimum of ‘B’ grade (CGPA) in the 7 point UGC scale at the Master’s degree level.

The University offers Ph.D. in various disciplines like Economics, Commerce, History, Political Science, Hindi, English, Hindi, Education etc. To get admission to the Ph.D. program, the candidate must possess a Master's degree with 55% marks in the concerned subject.

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s Degree in any discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for the reserved category)
• 50% seats in the course are reserved for SC/ ST candidates and the remaining 50% are kept for the open category.
• Admission to Foreign candidates is given through the Central Committee for Admission of Foreign Students, NEHU as per the guidelines of the Govt. of India.

Admission to both courses is given on the basis of merit in the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the concerned department
