Below mentioned is the selection process:

The university will prepare a common merit list for both general and reserved category candidates on the basis of their marks in last qualifying examinations.
Candidates securing higher aggregate percentage shall be given higher rank in the merit list. In tie-breaking cases, candidates senior in age shall be given preference.
Candidates shortlisted will be required to appear for online centralized counselling.
If seats remain vacant after the two rounds of counseling rounds in reserved category, general candidates will be counseled to fill up those seats.
85% of the seats shall be open for the candidates seeking admissions under state quota whereas the remaining 15% seats shall be open for candidates from outside the Punjab state.
Candidates who passed their HSC examinations or have studied at least three years from schools in rural areas shall be given 5% weightage in marks obtained in qualifying examinations.

IKGPTU, Jalandhar BBA Structure

Course Structure: The BBA course curriculum for both specializations include core. Elective, ability enhancement and skill enhancement courses. Practical works, field works, group discussions, projects and viva are a part of the core courses whereas candidates are given the opportunity to choose from elective courses (Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management) as per their choice from 5th semester onwards. An industrial training for one complete semester is mandatory
Credits: BBA at IKGPTU is a credit based course. Candidates must earn a minimum of 150 credits in BBA General and 154 credits in BBA SIM in order to pass the course. The credit distribution pattern is as follows:
- Core Courses: 55%-75% of the total credits
- Elective Courses: 10%-15% of the total credits
- Departmental Courses: 5%-10% of the total credits
- Lecture, Tutorial, Seminar, Project, Dissertation: 1 credit each

Examinations: A total of three midterm sessional tests are conducted in an academic year which carry 25% weightage marks whereas quizzes, class discussion, seminars, attendance, group discussion, project, case studies and assignments carry 16% of the weightage. End term examinations are conducted twice a year and hold 60% weightage.
Evaluation: Periodic assessments, quizzes, tests, internal and external examinations are conducted to evaluate the academic performance of the students. Evaluation is done out of total 100 marks, among which 60 marks are assigned to external examinations and the remaining 40 are assigned to internal examinations. Candidates must secure at least 20% marks in each course.?
