Introduction

Masters of Science in Mathematics popularly known as M.Sc. Mathematics is a postgraduate programme of two years and sub divided into four semesters. The main objective of this course is to give first-hand knowledge in advanced applied mathematics and forefront research experience.

The basic eligibility that colleges ask for this course is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with mathematics as a main subject, from any recognized university or board.

The tuition fee for government college ranges from 30,000 INR to 50,000 INR while in private colleges fees range is 1 lakh to 4 lakh.

Students in this field can get work in government sector, financial sector in private firms and Universities. Work profile can be of Actuarial professional, Teacher, Database Manager, and External Auditor. Average starting salary after doing this course can be around 4-5 lakh per annum and can go up after gaining some experience.

What Is The Course About?

Masters of Science in Mathematics makes sure to provide advanced research skills and provide in depth knowledge of reasoning and problem solving skills. It incorporates foundation of mathematical thinking and teaches both pure and applied mathematics to the core. In Distance Mode of Education, the duration is minimum of 2 years and maximum of 4 years. Some of the universities that offer this program in distance learning mode are Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, NIMS University, Jaipur, Uttarakhand Open University, Nainital.

• The course fee will remain same for subsequent years. However, Caution Deposit (Refundable after completion of course) of Rs. 5,000/- which is not included in above table is to be paid at the time of admission along with applicable course fees
