Kalasalingam University Admission 2024: Application process, Eligibility

The university offers UG courses in the field of Technical, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, Business Administration and Computer Applications. Additionally, the students can opt for Bachelor of Vocational degree which has three specializations -  Maintenance of Electronics and Communication Equipments, Medical Lab Technology and Software Development.

The duration for all courses is 3 years except B.Tech which is of 4 years and B.Arch which is of 5 years. Lateral entry admission in B.Tech is also applicable for the eligible candidates.

• Admissions to the B.Tech. programme will be based on the results of the Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education Entrance Examination (KUEE), generally conducted in the month of May / June of that year by the University.
• For lateral entry in B.Tech, eligible candidates need to go through an entrance examination conducted by the University and the selection is done on the basis of merit.
• For B.Arch admission, the candidates must score merit marks in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) examination conducted by CoA. The admission is done on the basis of NATA exam scores along with higher secondary marks.
• Admission for rest of the courses is done on the basis of merit marks scored in the qualifying examination.

The university runs PG course same as UG fields namely - Technical, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, Business Administration and Computer Applications. Additionally, students can also pursue for Master of Social Work (MSW) course.

The duration for all courses is 2 years except M.C.A which is of 3 years. The university also offers lateral entry to the M.C.A courses which is of 2 years duration. 

The students looking forward to take admission in M.Tech needs to clear the Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education Entrance Examination (KUEE) or GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

Note:

Candidates with the below listed eligibility are exempted from the entrance examination for PG courses in the Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education:

• Candidates sponsored under Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) or other similar programmes.
• Candidates sponsored by the industries, established institutes / Research and Development organizations / National laboratories or other similar institutes.

The university offers full time as well as part time Ph.D course to the eligible candidates in 19 different specialisations. The duration for Ph.D is minimum 3 years and maximum 6 years for full time course whereas for part time course, it is minimum 4 years and maximum 7 years. Additionally, the students can also go for a 1 year M.Phil course which has five different specialisation -  Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biotechnology. Admission to the all the Engineering programs is done for those who have a Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Business Administration with distinction first class. They must have a minimum of 60% marks (CGPA 6.5) or equivalent (like M.Sc (Engineering) / M.S. by Research). 

For Ph.D/ M.Phil Admission into Humanities, Sciences and Languages, candidate must have Master’s degree with a minimum 60% in Sciences and 55% in Humanities / Social Sciences / Languages

Selection for each specialization, an entrance test and personal interview will be conducted by the Department Research Committee. This will be conducted between January to July every year. Based on the performance in the entrance test/interview, the successful candidates shall be shortlisted.
