IIIT Pune Courses Admission 2024: Dates, Cutoff, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

IIIT Pune offers a full-time course spanning over two years B. Tech program in two different specializations Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The total seat intake capacity of the course is 225 students. The details of the course are as follows:

IIIT Pune B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from a recognized board/ university with at least 60% marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 50% in the class 12th class examination.
• Additionally, they must have qualified for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains).

IIIT Pune B.Tech Selection Criteria

• Selection to the B.Tech program is based on the ranks secured by the candidates in the JEE Main entrance examination followed by the JoSAA counseling process. 

IIIT Pune BTech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIIT Pune JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Main examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. IIIT Pune BTech expected cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 opening and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

How to apply for JEE Main?

Candidates who are eligible for admission have to take the JEE Main. The application process is given below:

• Visit the official website of JEE- Main
• Register for the online application form
• Make a note of the system-generated application number
• Create a password
• Log in again and fill out the form
• Upload scanned images of photographs and signature
• A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through a Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI, or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

IIIT Pune offers a full-time course spanning over two years M.Tech Program across two different specializations, namely, Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (Internet of Things). The first year focuses on the academic component while in the second year the candidates are supposed to write the thesis. The details of the course are as follows:

IIIT Pune M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates should have completed their B.Tech/B.E. degrees in the respective discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

IIIT Pune M.Tech Selection Criteria

• Admission is through a counseling process based on the rank obtained in the GATE Exam.
• Candidates have to select the college at the time of counseling.
• Based on the rank obtained and college selected, seat allotment will be done
• Selected candidates will be intimidated through a call.
• All the selected candidates need to report at the college for further admission process along with valid documents.

IIIT Pune GATE Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

How to Apply for GATE?

Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
• Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.

The institute offers a full-time Ph.D. course across a variety of specializations in the departments of Engineering & Technology and Humanities & Social sciences. The minimum duration of the program ranges from 3 years to 6 years. The details of the courses are as follows:

IIIT Pune Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria 

For Ph.D. in Engineering:

• Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or a Master’s degree by Research (M.S. By Research) in Engineering/ Technology disciplines with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks

(or)

•  CGPA of 6.5/10 in UG or PG for admission under OC/OBC category and 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0/10 for SC/ST candidates.

For Ph.D. in Science and Humanities:

• Candidates with First class Bachelor or First class Master degree in Sciences/Humanities in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or in PG for OC/OBC category and 55% aggregate marks
• (or) equivalent CGPA of 6.0 in UG / PG for SC/ST candidates.

IIIT Pune Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• The candidates are selected on the basis of their scores in the entrance test conducted by the institute followed by a personal interview. 
• The syllabus for the written test is based on the GATE/ NTA NET entrance examinations.
