- MSc in Animal Science is a 1-Year program at Southern Illinois University.

- The Animal Science unit offers graduate work leading to a Master of Science degree in Animal Science with four concentrations:
- Animal Science
- Animal Nutrition

- Customized Study: Animal Science
- Through this program, students experience quality, hands-on learning both in the classroom and in the daily care, feeding, management, and supervision of animals.
- During a student's first semester, a plan of graduate course work approved by the student's graduate committee will be filed with the departmental office.
- Students have to successfully complete 35 semester hours of graduate credit for this program.
- Each master's degree candidate must pass a comprehensive oral examination covering all graduate work including the thesis or research paper.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an undergraduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Students from a broad range of disciplines are also eligible to apply.
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Students need to have a minimum of first-class or upper Second with a minimum of 60% on an institutional basis.
