University of Quebec- at Rimouski Campus

UQAR has two campuses, the main campus located in Rimouski and another campus in Levis. Some of the facilities available on campus include libraries, eateries, cafeterias, an early childhood centre (EPC), help centre for success (CAR) and much more.

  • Various student groups are recognized at UQAR including a general association, special interest groups, and program committees for students registered in a specific field of study. There are 3 student newspapers- a magazine for geography students, a journal for history students and a literary review called Character.
  • Events such as a university competition featuring the performance arts, talent shows and a gala featuring para-academic activities are regularly organized at UQAR.
  • Students can explore the culture and history of the city at the Pointe-au-Pere Maritime Historic Site, the Bic National Park, the Canyon of the Gates of Hell and various other places of interest.
  • Around 2,780 students at the undergraduate level attend full time while 2,867 students are registered part-time. Around 12.5% of freshman students are international students.

On-campus and off-campus accommodation are available at UQAR. The 5 buildings can accommodate a total of 314 students. Students are required to share apartments but have their own bedrooms.

  • Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, a mattress cover, a bedside table, a work desk and chair, a wardrobe, shelves and drawers and a mirror.
  • Common washer, dryer and ironing facilities are available in each building along with storage facilities. Other amenities available include a post office box, internet and phone connection, paid parking etc.
  • Special 3 bedroom apartments are available for students with reduced mobility and other disabilities.
