There is a course called business placement in which you have to complete 100 hours of internship at an accounting office, tax office, in a bank.

There wasn’t any particular placement program for master's students. Even though few companies visited sometimes to hire freshers.

Internship

There wasn’t any co-op or internship in my program.

I haven't had any of this experience firsthand but from what I can hear, the opportunities are pretty average since Guelph is a very small town. The opportunities however are open to students.

I am enrolled in a coop program but I haven't had the opportunity to actually try to apply for jobs yet so I can't speak from personal experience to that.

We can get Co op jobs and other freshman job. The packages depends on the company yoh get in. Most people do get into the basic comapny.

I chose it because of the overall rank of the university in canada. The cultural exposure and comforting environment was also my priority.

From the seniors' experience, it is really dreadful.

It was never my first choice but I didn't want to miss an opportunity so I took it.

During orientation week, we were shown an infographic about where Biomedical graduates went after they completed their degree, and almost all went on to pursue secondary education. Thus, it's hard to say what the job placement percentage is.

Yes! I was offered a campus job but turned it down as I didn't believe I would have time for it. Campus jobs are offered based on answers from the supplementary application and are given based on financial need.

I opted for this particular university because it had the program I wanted and throughout the tour I just felt like it was a place where I should go the school. Everything I was exposed to before I applied met my needs both through education and as a living means. It's easy to go out and do things but there are so many resources available to do really well in school.

There are many jobs on campus. The most common one is working in the hospitality sector. On-campus jobs work around your schedule. They pay the minimum wage but are very convenient as you can take shifts between classes as well. Programs such as work-study, URA, USRA, all work towards providing students with opportunities to gain experience.

University of Guelph's ambassadors regularly visited our high school to offer more information and answer any questions we may have about any faculty. They provided several brochures which gave us plenty of insight into the campus life as well. I also attended an event known as "Ontario Universities' Fair" in Toronto where we were able to have conversations with a lot of current students at different universities before selecting which ones we wanted to apply to. I applied to about 4 universities and my top two I had trouble choosing between Guelph and Waterloo. I selected Guelph because it was a smaller school, I would be closer to home, and because I heard positive things about their science programs from upper-year students.

The campus was beautiful and easy to get around. Everyone on campus seemed so nice and welcoming. It also had professors who were well known in the industry I was looking to pursue. Giving me the opportunity to have them as references on my resume.

Location, program, and prices where all that I needed. I wanted to get away from my family and be on my own to discover myself. Plus there are lots of employment options nearby with constant transit.
