What's New in IET Lucknow?
IET Lucknow BTech admissions are based on JEE Main score 2024 followed by UPTAC Counselling. The IET Lucknow BTech admissions 2024 registration deadline has been extended till December 04. IET Lucknow UG and PG admissions are based on CUET UG and CUET PG scores. NTA has declared the CUET UG and CUET PG exam dates. The CUET UG and CUET PG 2024 exams will be held from May 15 to May 31, and from March 11 to March 28, 2024 respectively.
Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, also known as IET Lucknow, is a state government engineering college located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. IET, Lucknow was established in the year of 1984. It is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (erstwhile Uttar Pradesh Technical University).

Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow offers the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree program with a number of different specialization subjects. The institute also accepts lateral entry (direct admission in second year) in all the B.Tech specializations.
To be eligible for the degree level engineering program, candidates should have passed 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognised board or university with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.
Admission to B.Tech program is done through entrance exam named UPSEE conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) for admission in the B.Tech courses.

Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow also offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) program at the postgraduate level with two different specializations.
To be considered eligible for the postgraduate level engineering program, candidates must have a B.E /B.Tech degree in the relevant specialization and must have scored minimum of 60% marks in Graduate Degree examination in the relevant branch of engineering. Candidate should have completed B.Tech degree program from one of the U.P board of education sanctioned colleges.
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will have to appear in GATE.

Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow MBA and MCA Admission 2023
In addition to the M.Tech program, the institute offers two postgraduate level courses focusing in the area of Business Administration and Computer Application leading to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) degrees.
Candidates need to hold a three years bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline, from a recognized university in order to get admission.
Admission to the MBA and MCA courses are through UPSEE. The final merit list is prepared considering the marks obtained in the entrance examination as well as in the previous qualifying examination.

What is the status of IET Lucknow, and can I get admission there with a 1,750 rank in the UPSEE? In which branch?
Currently, IT Lucknow is considered the best college in Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). But it is way backward in terms of infrastructure and placements from its private counterparts. The non-core branches’ average placements hover around INR 4-5 lakhs per annum while that of core branches is virtually non-existent.
The students are good as most of them were serious IITs and NITs aspirants before coming here. The students here can easily prepare for other competitive exams as coaching centers are nearby. Attendance is also fairly lenient and thus you will get ample time for your preparations. However, sometimes the administration may go hard if they feel like it.
With a rank of 1750 in UPSEE, I think you can get electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering by 4th round. You may also get information technology and electronics and communications engineering by 5th round.
Here are some of the things for which you can consider joining IET Lucknow –
- If you are not getting any NIT or GFTI.
- If your financial condition is not good (Being a government college it has a very nominal fee).
- If you do not want a heavy academic burden.
- If you are aiming for higher education and do not care about placements much.
IET Lucknow is not a bad institute. It is just that it is mostly a good compromise institute rather than an outright first-choice college.
Can I get admission in IET Lucknow via JEE Mains?
IET Lucknow does not accept JEE Main score for their admission process. You must have a valid score in UPSEE to get a seat.
In case you have not applied for UPSEE then you can try for HBTU Kanpur or Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur. These colleges are almost at the same level as IET Lucknow and JEE Main scores are accepted here for admission.
MMMUT also conducts its own entrance exam i.e. MET exam and some seats are reserved for JEE Main candidates.
Can I take admission in IET Lucknow with 360 in UPTU?

I am an MBA aspirant looking to get admission at IET Lucknow. According to my research, the admissions are done via CUET-PG. The CUET-PG 2024 exam was held on March 11- March 24, 2024. The results were declared on April 13, 2024. The CUET-PG counselling for this academic year has been ongoing since April 24, and you can expect it to continue till June 20, 2024. What are the admission dates for the MTech course at IET Lucknow?
According to my seniors at IET, you should keep an eye of the website for all the recent updates on MTech admissions. The admissions to MTech is basically done on the basis of GATE score, but non-GATE candidates can also apply.
The GATE 2024 admit card was released on January 3, 2024, and the exam was held on February 3,4,10, and 11, 2024. The results were announced on March 16, 2024.
