IET Lucknow Placements 2022: Median Package: INR 5.70 LPA & 187 Students Placed

One of my friends studied at IET Lucknow. Let me share some information I gathered from him, which might answer your question.

• The placement cell of IET Lucknow has been successful in pairing up the students who are talented with the right companies.
• This has led to the rise in the number of student selections.
• The faculty of IET Lucknow enjoys an enviable reputation.
• The alumni are also involved in the institute’s educational and research activities.
• The placement office and the representatives of the students are in charge of making contact with the companies, scheduling, and executing the activities.
• The placement team tries its best to bridge the gap between the expectations of the recruiters and the aspirations of the students.
• The team of student representatives includes the placement managers who are in charge of the coordination of the activities.

The placement office also supervises the company coordinators who are in charge of executing coordination with the organizations that recruit. Also, the department placement coordinators channel the preparedness of the students and initiatives for the enhancement of employability.

Some of my friends are from IET Lucknow. According to them, the placements of the CSE and IT branches are really good. Almost all the students get placed. The placement percentage shall be around 80-90% in both CSE and IT departments.

The salary packages offered to the students may vary from company to company. Or a student’s overall performance could also determine the job role and the salary package offered.

Generally, out of 60 students in a batch, 7 to 8 students are placed with a package of more than INR 5-6 LPA.

Thus it is not that tough to get a salary package of above 6 LPA. If your overall academic performance is good throughout your college life, securing a salary package of above 6 LPA will not be a problem. Also, remember that these could vary.

According to my friends studying at IET Lucknow,Electronics & Instrumentation (EI) Engineering is not a core engineering branch at all while Chemical Engineering is close to being called a core engineering branch.

Now coming to the placement scenario –

• Civil Engineering – Only 1 company visited and paid a salary of INR 4 LPA
• Mechanical Engineering – Only 1 company came and probably it was open for other colleges as well. It took 2 students in total
• EI Engineering – Only 1 company came which was also not a major company and it also took only 2 students
• Chemical Engineering – No company visited the campus

The placements happen in good numbers only for CSE and IT departments. But the placement packages are still less. So most of the students focus on clearing competitive exams such as GATE, IES, CAT, and others.

The harsh reality of IET Lucknow is that you may not even get a single interview experience if you are from the above-mentioned branches. The college is improving under the leadership of the new director but still, there is a long way to go.

If you talk of GATE performance, then EI and chemical engineering always perform much better than other branches.

HBTU and IET Lucknow both are government colleges and are considered to be tier 3 colleges whereas JSS Noida is a private institute and is considered a Tier 4 college. Normally tier 3 is favored upon tier 4 but in this case, JSS Noida is a very fine institute as of now both in terms of academics and placements.

• Private colleges like JSS Noida offer better opportunities and facilities than government institutes. 
• The placement HBTU and IET Lucknow are the same as JSS Noida. 
• Students from the CSE branch of JSS Noida get into well-based companies and MNCs and are offered packages far better than that of HBTU and IET Lucknow. 
• Normally students from HBTU and IET Lucknow get offered packages worth around 8-10 LPA. 
• This is the same with JSS Noida for other engineering courses but for CSE the packages reach up to 25 LPA.
• Students from Chemical engineering are not employed by any core companies in India as they are very few. 

CSE branch has more value than any other engineering branch. The best option would be CSE from JSS Noida rather than Chemical engineering from HBTU or other engineering branches from IET Lucknow.

Yes, of course. Placements of both MCA and B.Tech students take place together. However, I'm not quite sure about the package information about MCA students, but you can’t expect more than 5 LPA. Popular companies like TCS recruits MCA students along with B.Tech students with around 3.4 LPA.

Here are some major facts of IET Lucknow :

A lot of reputed companies participate in their placement program. These include Microsoft, KPMG, Capgemini, Accenture, HP, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, etc.

I have a friend studying at IET Lucknow from the Civil branch. I will not be able to tell you about HBTI but I can guide you in the case of IET.

• The mechanical branch of IET is the best in the entire college in terms of studies.
• The faculty of the mechanical department is the best and you would not regret pursuing B. Tech in mechanical engineering from IET Lucknow. The faculty teaches better than what the students are taught in coachings (as per mechanical students).
• But as far as placement is considered, it is almost nil. The only companies that visit are from the IT sector. Even if a core company visits (rare chance), just a few students get placed. So, I would recommend you not to join IET if your parameters are good placements.
• Considering the college tag, HBTI is a renowned college but IET is also not unfamiliar. IET is well known among IIT professors.

Being from IET is also not bad, though not comparable to being from Harcourt.

ET Lucknow is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). It is considered one of the tier 3 engineering colleges in the state and most of the students from the institute pass out with an average salary of INR 3 – 4 lakhs per annum to work as clerks in service-based companies which cannot be termed great in any sense.

Electrical Engineering as a discipline is also very dead and there will be very few core companies who will offer jobs.

The skills demanded by the industry are not being supplied by the students and thus placements are lower. If the colleges start implementing changes and upskill their students the situation will definitely improve. But as it stands today, the placements are grim.

JSS Noida will be a better option for you. The location factor is also very important. After completing course, you can easily get a job in any of the IT in Noida. The off-campus chances of getting placed are also high. You will also get good industrial exposure in the JSS Noida college. The college is very strict in attendance. The company has got a lot of placement opportunities. The labs and equipment of the college are also well equipped.

IET Lucknow being a government college is good for core branches only. The CS and IT branch of the college is not that good. If you are planning for GATE and other competitive exams. you might get ample time for that because there is no such attendance system.
