approx 50 students in marketing there are approx 550 students for marketing ratio is 2:4 overall ratio 3:7 major chunk of students are from delhi ncr, south india and kolkata in particular. Students are from diverse background like engineers, commerce, arts. there is good amount of peer to peer learning with the help of apo aasigned for each subject. Yes there are marks for cp which constitute around 10% of overall weigthage. no most of students attend classes for sake of attendance.
Usually about 40-50 students are seated in a class. The total strength of my specialisation is around 350-400. The gender ratio for girls:boys for my batch is 30:70 and it’s the same across all specialisations as well. The class is culturally very diverse with people from different religions, regions, backgrounds. We have students from almost every state starting from Jammu to Tamil Nadu to Assam and Gujarat and even states such as Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradhesh etc. Major population is from northern parts of the country. The peer group is very diverse in terms of the work experience and their previous educational experience. There is a lot peer learning happening in classes especially because we have special marks associated to class participation in every subject. I have mixed view on the fact that students genuinely attend classes for learning. Some students just attend classes to get through the course without a grade loss but the ones who regularly attend and participate in class are the ones truly there to learn.
1. 60-65 students could be seated in a class at max. In our specialization we have 300 students in marketing and the total batch size is around 800 students. 2. For our course the boys to girls ratio is around 3:1 and is same for the entire batch. In our batch the population is a bit skewed towards students primarily from Delhi NCR region. But we have people from the southern part of the country as well as from states like west Bengal, Bihar to name a few. 3. Peer group is great with people from diverse backgrounds adding to different ideas in group activities. Also there is a good mix of freshers as well as work ex people which helps group activities with diversified ideas. Yes peer learning does take place a lot. 4. Yes we do get class participation marks. 5. Yes students do attend the class for learning but for a few subjects I feel they attend solely for attendance purpose especially the ones which they don't like.
Class strength is approximately 60 and 720 students are total in this year batch. marketing has 180 students. 2:3 is the ratio for girls and boys. Peer group is highly competitive because no reservation is their in the college and every student has performed well in their CAT and come to this college. Some attend for marks and some for learning.
The total strength of a class is generally 60. There are 180 students in marketing. There are 36% girls in the college. Students come from various backgrounds, and we even have a doctor in our batch. The peer to peer interaction is one of the major sources of learning. For every subject, we have 10 marks for class participation. The majority of the students attend the class for learning, but there are a few students who attend class just for attendance.
There are approximately 60-65 students per class across 12 sections taking the total strength of the batch to somewhere around 750 people. In my specialization in particular their are around 200 people pursuing Marketing and the overall gender diversity ratio is approximately 60:40. In an address by our director, he revealed to us that their are students from approximately 25 different states and 4-5 different Union Territories in our batch and the diversity can be seen in class with people coming from Jammu to Chennai and Ahmedabad to Kolkata and even as far as Dispur, Assam. Yes, we do have peer groups in our class and while things are taught to us in class, peer learning only happens outside of it by sitting together in your own time and brainstorming/discussing subject matter and everything and anything. Yes, we do have marks for class participation in class which is good because it does generate conversation and inculcate different opinions but its a very fine line between that and the class becoming a fish market. Whilst I believe some of us do have genuine interest in the subjects being taught, majority do not attend the classes for learning and more so to just ensure they do not suffer a grade loss and are meeting the attendance criterion.
120 people in bfs and 60 in my class. 36% female and 64% male. Peer group learning is the what fuels my MBA journey. Students come from every part from Gujrat to jammu to kerala to Sikkim. Yes we have class participation grade. Students attend certain classes for learning and certain to avoid grade loss
Generally the class strength at IMT Ghaziabad is around 60-70 students, with an overall PGDM strength of about 740 students. Then there are specialisations in marketing and Finance with an approximate strength of 100 to 120 each. The institute has a predominantly male student base with about 36 percent girls and 64 percent boys. Cultural diversity also marks the institute with students hailing from different states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal among others, that really add to the classroom discussions. Peer learning is greatly encouraged and often, marks are earned on participation. Thus, students arrive to class for engaging reasons. Most students have good attitudes toward attending classes since they can learn through insights from faculty members and the team spirit created by peers.
There are about 60 students in each class. Total strength is about 750 There are 30% of girls in the batch and 70% boys. The cultural diversity is also good, many people are from different parts of the country. Like Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu , Kerala and many others For some subjects some students attend only because of attendance.
A class roughly has 60 students seated in. The total strength of my particular specialization (PGDM marketing) is 200 (1st Year) IMT has students from across India (20+ States and UT), hence, there is no lack of cultural diversity in class. Most are from Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata. Students are given a mentor (High achiever from 2nd year). There is also peer to peer learning incorporated in IMT. Yes, almost all courses have class participation marks. Yes, most of the students attend classes for learning, the course is good and the teachers are experts in their own field.

Before I talk about the worth of private B Schools like IMT/IMI/XIMB, let’s consider their average packages.
B School |
Average Package |
IMT |
INR 17.35 LPA |
IMI Delhi |
INR 17.01 LPA |
XIMB |
INR 20 LPA |
The average package of government colleges like IITs and DSE is slightly less around INR 10.57 LPA. So the point is if you are ready to invest a hefty amount in B Schools, you will not regret the decision as they are game changers. The level of exposure and diversity is almost higher than in Government colleges. IITs, DFS and DSE MBAs have a more theoretical approach than a practical one. However, the figures for private B schools are inflated so do consider the ups and downs.
The final decision is up to you. Try to find what exactly you want from MBA
Make a well-informed decision after proper research.
Everyone has a different definition of worth. In my opinion, IMT Ghaziabad is worth getting admission at under the following circumstances
In fact if right harnessed, IMT Ghaziabad has many excellent opportunities to offer. It’s a well-established institute and among the top B Schools in the country. Established as early as 1980, it has an elaborate alumni network. So if you are true to yourself and your career this B School will help you climb to the top gradually.
IMT Ghaziabad offers a variety of courses that cater to various specializations. These courses have been listed and explained in their order of preference
The courses have been arranged preference-wise so will make it easy for you to choose one.
IMT Ghaziabad is called the Mecca for Marketing. It’s well known for its specialization in Marketing, Sales, and Business Development based roles. I don't think it offers similar opportunities for finance as well. The placements are pretty good but getting internship offers is difficult for someone who is switching careers from IT to Finance.
So if you really want to pursue a career in Finance after your MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, you can try CFA, and FRM and have some past background in Finance
IMT Ghaziabad DCP program is one of the best and most coveted among its students. My brother is currently a first-year student of the same and has a lot to say about the course through his experience. He joined the program only after in-depth research. What attracted him the most was the location of the program, Dubai, which is the hub of globalization. Some major highlights of the course are
My brother's experience was amazing and he recommends it to anyone who wants to explore outside the box.
IMT Ghaziabad weekend PGPM program is most suitable for working professionals who cannot spare much time from their work life to pursue MBA. People who are unable to pursue a regular MBA due to personal reasons can only go for this program.
Eligibility: The eligibility criteria is a minimum of 3 years of work experience. Sometimes they might even ask for a sponsorship letter from your employer.
The program is a well-structured one and has been established for a long time now.
Fees: The fees for this program are INR 7.25 Lakhs.
Suitability: The program is a good choice if you want to upgrade your skills, broaden your learning experience, or switch careers. Homeowners if you are looking for a salary spike this program does not guarantee it as it provides placement assistance but not proper placement opportunities.
If you are really keen to join IMT Ghaziabad go for the DCP program only. It’s the only program worth spending your time and money on. It guarantees quality education, premium batch quality, faculty, and the overall environment. Also, IMT Ghaziabad is well known for its rich competition culture.
But there are many demerits that overshadow the merits of IMT Ghaziabad. For instance, the campus has an undisciplined environment owing to the influence of Delhi culture. The faculty is also deorbiting in the sense that they don’t care about the reputation of the institute anymore. The batch size is also a major disadvantage at IMT Ghaziabad. You shouldn’t expect a batch size lower than 500-600.
For those who take the DCP program, keep in mind that the internship opportunities will be difficult due to the difference in work culture. You will have to try hard to move forward.
Do your own part of research that is not just based on figures and then join the college.
My friends passed out from IMT Ghaziabad and said that your specialization does not really matter. What matters is the institute. She was in a dilemma about choosing IMT and TAPMI and later went for IMT Ghaziabad and is very proud of her decision. She thinks it has many advantages over TAPMI like
All these points clearly show that IMT Ghaziabad is better than TAPMI.
