IIITDM Kancheepuram Courses Admission 2024: Dates, Cutoff, Eligibility, Application Process

At the undergraduate level, IIITDM Kancheepuram offers B.Tech degree program in 8 specializations. The minimum academic qualification for admission is a pass in 10+2 with PCM subjects’ combination or its equivalent.

Admission will be based on performance in JEE Main and HSC examinations as per Central Board of

Secondary Education (CBSE) guidelines through a counselling conducted by the

JoSAA/ CSAB for the respective year. Admission to the particular branch of study shall be as decided during CSAB counseling.

IIITDM B.Tech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIIT Kancheepuram JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Main examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. IIIT Kancheepuram BTech expected cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 opening and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

Apart from the B.Tech program, IIITDM Chennai offers a five-year Integrated program that awards the Dual degree of B.Tech +M.Tech. The Integrated programs are offered under five different specializations of Engineering. The minimum academic qualification for admission is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) with PCM subject combination or its equivalent. Admission to the Dual Degree will be based on performance in JEE Main and 10+2 guidelines through a counseling conducted by the JoSAA/ CSAB for the respective year.

At the postgraduate level, the institute offers M.Tech and M.Des programs. M.Des program is offered under three different specializations. Candidates who have qualified for the award of the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or Master’s degree in Science from educational Institutions approved by AICTE/UGC/Government and who have a valid GATE score are eligible to apply for admission to the M.Tech or M.Des program.

Final selections for the programs will be through GATE score and CCMT counselling.

• The SC / ST / PWD candidates will be given a 5% of marks relaxation in degree level exam or in CGPA (on a 10-point scale).
• Graduates from IITs/IIITs/NITs with minimum CGPA of 8 out of 10 for GC and 7.5 out of 10 in the case of SC/STs are eligible for admission without GATE Score.

IIITDM Kancheepuram GATE Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

IIITDM Kancheepuram offers Ph.D. programs to the candidates seeking a research-oriented career. The Ph.D. programs are offered under various specializations.

The minimum eligibility for Ph.D. is as follows:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology from a reputed R & D organization or IIT with minimum 8.0 CPGA, valid GATE score and excellent research record. 
• Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s Degree in Science by Research with good academic record.
• Master’s Degree in Science with good academic record and exceptional merit with valid GATE/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ NBHM or equivalent qualification. 

The institute also offers admission under Financial Assistance (HTRA) and without Assistance (NHRTA) to the candidates. Eligible candidates possessing the above-mentioned qualifications will be called for an interview and Test by the Selection Committees. The selection will be done on the basis of performance in Academic Record, Test and Interview. For admission, candidates need to apply online through institute’s website. 

Key Points:

• For candidates who have obtained PG degree 10 years earlier as on the last date prescribed for receipt of the completed application, a specialization test may be conducted.
• For Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering, preference will be given to Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering. 
• In the case of candidates with more than five-year of relevant experience after the Master's degree, the requirement of a test score may be waived by the Selection Committee.
• Foreign nationals should have a valid GRE/GMAT/GATE/NET/ICAT /JMET/ TOEFL or an equivalent examination score in the relevant discipline to be eligible for admission.
• For Mathematics, candidate must pass in Master’s degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Computer Science or M.Tech or M.Tech with Master’s degree in  Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Computer Science. 
• For Ph.D. in Physics, candidate must pass in M.Sc./M.Sc in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science/ M.Tech in relevant discipline.
