Asutosh College Admission 2024: UG Application Form (Out), Courses, Eligibility, Last Date To Apply

Asutosh College offers a three-year B.Sc and BA course as Honors/ Major/ General/ in various disciplines. BBA course is only offered as an Honors course.

Candidates applying should have passed HSC with minimum 50% marks for an Honors course with 45% marks in the subjects in which the application is sought. Similarly, for General course candidate should have passed HSC with 40% marks.

The selection for each UG course is on the basis of the merit list. Merit list is drawn considering candidate’s marks in top-four subjects in the qualifying exam i.e. HSC. Admission to BBA (Hons.) is done on the basis of GD/PI.

Key Points:

• The applicant should have compulsorily passed English in HSC or equivalent.
• The candidate shall not be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 5 years in education from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
• However, the year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating this 5 year period.
• 5% relaxation is given to SC/ ST candidates in the qualifying exam criteria

Asutosh College offers two Vocational courses. Minimum eligibility for admission to Vocational courses is HSC with at least 45% marks.

For Vocational course in Software development, candidate should have passed HSC with Mathematics, Physics/ Computer, and Science/ Computer Application/ Statistics.

Similarly for Industrial Aquaculture and Fisheries course, candidate should have passed HSC with Mathematics, Science/ Computer Application/ Statistics, Physics/ Computer, Chemistry, Biology/ Biological Science/ Biotechnology/ Micro-biology/ Agriculture/ Pisciculture/ Horticulture.

Key Points:

• Direct admission is not provided in Vocational Courses.
• Candidates applying must have passed English in 10+2.

The college offers MA in Bengali and M.Sc. in five specializations.

Minimum eligibility for MA is candidate must pass in BA (Hons) course in relevant discipline with 40% marks in honours. For M.Sc, candidate must pass in B.Sc. (Hons) degree with relevant subject in which they are applying. Admission to the PG Courses is done on the basis of Admission test.

Key Points:

• Admission to 60% of the seats is reserved for candidates from CU, on the basis of merit except for Environmental Science where seats are filled on the basis of admission test.
• 40% of the seats will be open for candidates from other universities where admission will be given on the basis of admission test.

Asutosh College offers diploma and Advanced diploma course in Software development and Mobile Communication.

Candidates applying should have passed HSC in General or Vocational Stream with Mathematics, Physics/Computer/ Computer Science Application/ Statistics with 40% marks.

Admission to Diploma course is on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Key Points:

• Relaxation of five percent is given to candidates from reserved category.
• No direct admission is provided in Diploma course.
• Candidates must have passed English in 10+2.
• The diploma course is of 1 year and Advance diploma course is of 2 years.

The college offers online mode of application only. Candidates applying to UG, Vocational and Diploma courses need to follow below steps:

• Visit the official website of the college.
• Click on Admission Tab, then on First-year admission and then click on Apply Online.
• Fill the application and pay the application fees through Credit card/ Debit card/Net Banking or Bank Challan (to be printed from college website) at any branch of BOB.
• Each student must have to submit filled-in Calcutta University Registration Form available at the college office. The registration form will be provided only after payment of fees.
• Submit filled-in registration form along with admission form in college office to get the Roll No. with Fees Book and Identity Card.
• Selected candidates need to print Admission form and fee payment voucher from the college website, fill both and attach with it below mentioned documents.
  1. Mark sheets of SSC and HSC or equivalent examination.
  2. Caste, tribe or disability certificate from competent authority.
  3.  Domicile certificate (if applicable).
  4. Proof of Residence-Ration Card/ Voter's Identity Card/Aadhar Card/ Passport).
  5. Passport size colour photograph. (4 in number)
  6. Get all the original documents verified by the respective Department
  7. After verification collect ADMIT order from Principal's office.

Application Fees:

• With Admission Test fees: INR 500
• Without Admission Test fees: INR 300

Note: For PG courses imparted through Distance education mode application forms are available from 12 Noon – 3 PM on working days.
