DU SOL: 6 Answered Questions

Can I do DU SOL to DU regular?

Keshav SinghB.Com in B.Com, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi (Graduated 2018)

You can transfer to DU Regular college from DU SOL, in the same course. However, there are a few key requirements to meet in order to be admitted to DU regular classes. You could get some advice from the following guidance:

  • If you perform exceptionally well in your first semester at DU SOL since DU exclusively accepts students who excel in their academic fields.
  • You must deliver all of the paperwork promptly.
  • For entrance-based examination procedures, you might be required to verify the terms of admission to DU normal institutions to determine whether or not an entrance exam is necessary.
  • Provide all the necessary documentation along with proof.

It is a fact that nothing is exceptionally unique about regular college; hard work is the only way to succeed. You can pour yourself completely into making the most of your SOL year by learning something new and professional that will open doors for you in the future.

Is DU SOL good?

Sakshi Gupta
Rima Das,studied at School of Open Learning, University of Delhi (2017)

One of my friends graduated from DU SOL. According to him there are certain things you learn which will be beneficial for your career ahead.

  • The important thing is you can get your degree as well as prepare for any competitive exam simultaneously.
  • If you need extra lessons, weekend classes are conducted.
  • You can also go through King Champion Guides and the last 10 years because it is the best to score good marks.
  • CA, CS or CMA with Delhi university B.Com (H) degree will provide you a respectable job and also other similar opportunities.
  • They have one of the best alumni networks.

It is suggested that you go for DU SOL only if it's your remaining option. Because some reviews of the placements are not that good, also if you want to prepare for UPSC, do it without getting involved in a college schedule. Though the time is flexible, ultimately it is your choice.

What is the procedure for the improvement exam in Sol DU for a BA h first year?

Chandra Mouli RoyB.Sc (H) Computer Science Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies,University of Delhi (2021)

Since my brother is a student of the School of Open Learning (University of Delhi), he was able to offer better insight on the topic. Here is what he had to say about the improvement rule mandated by the institute.

  1. The only exam you are permitted to improve is the last one that you appeared for. For example, let’s say that you appeared for the B.A 2nd-year examination then it is possible to only improve it once later on. While it is not possible to implement the improvement rule on the exam, like B.A 1st-year, that you appeared in the previous year.
  2. Now, it does not necessarily matter if your score either increases or decreases because whatever you score is going to be the ultimate score you receive. The marks that you retrieve will be final and you will have to surrender the previous score when you apply for the improvement exam.

So, if you want to opt for an improvement, you need to fill the UnderTaking form. Attach your original mark sheet with the form. In case you didn’t get the original mark sheet, you can contact SOL.

Is it possible to have a migration from DU SOL to DU regular on the basis of your first year percentage?

Falguni RahamanM.A Modern Indian & World History,University of Delhi (2016)

DU SOL follows an annual system while the other colleges under Delhi University follow a semester system. Therefore, there is no possible migration in between the courses.

At DU, the semester system for UG courses was introduced back in 2011. Which made it difficult for DU SOL students to seek migration in the second or third year of their courses in regular college.
