About SGTB Khalsa College

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College (SGTB) is a constituent of Delhi University. It is accredited by the NAAC with a grade ‘A’ and is ranked 30th by the NIRF ranking. It is among the oldest colleges of Commerce, Arts, and Science in Delhi. SGTB Khalsa was founded and is managed by DSGMC (Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee). The college offers UG, PG, Diploma and Certificate programmes in Science, Humanities, Language and Commerce department.

The placement cell in SGTB Khalsa is named IGNITE. It conducts mock interviews and group discussion in order to prepare the students for internship and job opportunities. The placement cell also organizes placement drives and invites top companies for recruitment. Some of these companies include Bain and Co, KPMG Global services, TCS, Wirpo, TresVista, etc. According to the SGTB Khalsa College placement 2022 highlights, a total of 71 recruiters visited during the placement drive and extended 167 offers. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College Admission Process

SGTB Khalsa College offers B.A, B.Sc, and B.Com as three years full time courses at the UG level. Admission to these courses are based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score. Candidates can apply via the online registration method from the official website @cuet.samarth.ac.in. The application fees for CUET is INR 650 for the general category and INR 550 for SC/ST/PWbD/ category.

Admission to SGTB Khalsa College UG courses will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s CUET score followed by e-counselling.
Candidates are required to register for e-counselling via the online platform.
E-counselling will contain 2 rounds where students will be able to choose the college that they want to opt for.
Students will be granted admission based on their CUET scores.
Sports and Extracurricular Activities Candidates will be required to appear for a performance test along with the CUET entrance examinations.
Selection of candidates for ECA will be made on a combination of CUET examination score and the candidate’s performance test.
Candidates must have a minimum of 25 percent score on their CUET and a minimum of 75 percent score on their performance test.

Admission to the PG courses are granted as per the CUET PG examination score. Candidates who wish to seek admission to the PG courses can apply via the online portal by creating a login ID and password. Candidates will be required to pay a fee of INR 500 for each application.

Library: The college has a library which is Mata Guruji library, equipped with more than 1,34000 books, 15,000 valuable manuscripts. The library has a subscription of 12 journals, 46 magazines and 27 newspapers. This is the only college of Delhi University, which is fully computerised and has a lift facility. The library has a section for Braille too.
Sports: The college is known for sports excellence. SGTB Khalsa College participates in various international competitions and has won various championships too. The college has an enormous playground for Hockey, Cricket, Football, Kho-Kho, Basket-ball, Tennis, Volley-ball, etc. Also it has facilities for Indoor games too such as Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, mini Gymnasium etc.
Laboratories: For the Science stream the college has spacious laboratories with upgraded modern equipment. The college has 24 laboratories, five each in the department of Physics, Botany and Zoology, Computer science has four, Chemistry has three and the Electronics Department has two labs.
Girls Hostel: The college also provides girls hostel facilities. The hostel facility is provided for the outstation girl students. The hostel is equipped with all the modern and basic facilities and located within the college campus. The girls hostel has accommodation for 147 students and has 49 rooms.
