Lady Irwin College, New Delhi

Lady Irwin College is a women’s college, affiliated to Delhi University and approved by UGC. It provides courses in Home Science under UG and PG curriculums. Also, few doctoral programmes are offered under 5 departments of Home Science. Other programmes of the college include a Postgraduate Diploma and a B.Ed course. The admission to both UG and PG courses is carried out on the basis of the candidate’s performance in CUET. After qualifying in the entrance exam, candidates have to appear in the centralized DU CSAS process for seat allocation.

All the academic programmes and extracurricular activities offered in Lady Irwin College are planned diligently to provide a holistic development of all the women students. It will help them, in the long run, to become competent entrepreneurs and acquire professional skills thus, enhancing the quality of life.

Lady Irwin College was founded in 1932 as a constituent college for women in the University of Delhi. The college has NAAC Grade ‘A+’ accreditation and has been ranked 22^nd in the National level by NIRF 2023. The faculty team of the college uses scholastic approaches and course structures to maintain high standards of education. The college offers an internationally competitive curriculum to promote talent and foster creativity among students.

Several basic facilities are provided by Lady Irwin College for the betterment of students, like, hostel accommodation, library, sports, horticulture project, computer resource center, canteen, medical helpdesk and lot more. The college also provides several scholarship facilities in various departments. The placement cell provides training and skills development sessions to guide the students about internship programs and placement. The aspirants get opportunities in the Education departments.
