M.Phil. in Hindi: Course Structure

The duration of M.Phil. in Hindi course is one to two years having 2 to 4 semesters depending upon the colleges. While famous colleges like Delhi University, JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia University have a two years degree with the 4-semester program, Annamalai University, and Himachal Pradesh University offers M.Phil. degree in one year.

There are two major parts in M.Phil: first part requires students to choose a course of study out of the offered courses and they are evaluated at the end of the First semester.

The second year or second semester of a one year program comprises purely of a dissertation prepared by the student through research. Students are constantly called in for discussions, seminars, presentations.

Scheme of Assessment

During M.Phil in Hindi, the scheme of assessment is based on written tests, internal assessment (discussions, seminars, attendance, and presentations), viva-voce as well as the dissertation (contributes to the major portion of the marks). The students are evaluated out of 300 marks for the entire coursework. The final weightage for each of these parameters is given below:
