Dr. S. Vinod is associate Professor and Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. He has sixteen years of experience teaching at Jerusalem College of Engineering and his research focuses on Drives, Power Converters, Multilevel Inverters, and Green Energy Systems. Dr. S. Vinod has published more than thirty technical articles in national and international conference proceedings and publications and is a senior member of IEEE and an Institution of Engineers and Indian Society for Technical Education life member. Design of DC-DC converter for Hybrid Wind Solar Energy System received the "Best Paper Award" at the 2012 IEEE International Conference on Computing, Electronics, and Electrical Technologies. He is also the recipient of the Best Teacher Award for the 2014-2015 academic year at Jerusalem College of Engineering. The 2017 Pearl Foundation Educational Excellence Award for Higher Education in India presented him with the "Best Assistant Professor Award" in engineering and science. The ESN journal awarded him the Most Innovative Educationist Award on November 26, 2021. He serve as a reviewer for several referred worldwide engineering research publications and has been invited for lectures, keynote addresses, and presided over technical sessions at national and international conferences.

During the course of your professional career, you have served in a variety of significant capacities at several educational institutions?

"Both the lecture hall and the laboratory are areas that pique my curiosity"

My beginnings in the working world were spent in the sphere of education. Because of my position as a teacher, it is my duty to pass on my expertise to students, but I also have the obligation to maintain my own knowledge and abilities and to stay abreast of developing tendencies.


Please describe your approach to leadership. What kind of a leader are you, and how would you describe your style?

"I lead from the front by taking action, demonstrating what needs to be done"

How do you formulate a strategy about the most important programmes and goals for the administration and marketing of your school?

We can implement an efficient classroom management system that will assist both the instructors and the students in accomplishing their objectives by working to create a collegiate environment that is free of stress.

The structures of the educational systems in India and other countries throughout the world are highly unlike one another. In your opinion, what are the most important things for an international student to focus on while they are attending your institute, university, or school?

"Instead of simply adhering to a predetermined course of study, the Indian higher education system"

In particular the one at our college, places an emphasis on learning in all aspects of one's environment. This includes both learning that takes place in the classroom as well as extracurricular activities such as student conducting events, contests between colleges, and annual festivals. Inbound students benefit from having a well-rounded experience that extends beyond what they learn in the classroom and what they read in the books because of all these intriguing events. At the end of the day, it encourages progress on all fronts, both personally and professionally.


How does the education offered at Jerusalem College Of Engineering ensure that its graduates are up to date on the latest industry standards?

"The development of course plans that include both objectives and outcomes is one of the ways that our college implements an outcome-based education model"

Continuous testing allows for the assessment of the pupils' various pedagogical approaches. The curriculum and syllabus will be carefully reviewed by the Board of Studies, and approval will be given by an expert panel of the Academic Council. The curriculum and syllabus will be framed with feedback from industry experts on changes that have occurred in the industry. The students at our college were educated using a variety of methods, including hands-on activities, industrial tours, expert addresses, presentations, project work, and interactive classes, among other methods.


Do you have any ideas on how your school could be more inclusive of kids who come from a variety of racial and economic backgrounds?

"The administration of our college makes available a wide variety of scholarship and funding opportunities to students from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds"

This is done to ensure that the student body receives the maximum amount of support possible and to place special emphasis on the maintenance of a positive environment.


In your opinion, what duties do you play at the university, and what responsibilities do you have to the students?

"Motivate your kids to learn, perform, and compete in their own unique style by giving them positive reinforcement"

Encourage students to further develop their abilities.


In your opinion, what should the University's primary focus be over the course of the next ten years?

"The primary objective of college should be to provide students with an education that is focused only on their needs"

What were some of the things you hoped to accomplish at Jerusalem College Of Engineering when you initially arrived here? Has it changed over the course of time, and how far along are you in putting that vision into action?

"A vision is more than just a prediction of what will happen in the future"

By having an intriguing aspect, it seeks to attract people's attention, inspire them, and motivate them. It is something that has changed for me throughout the course of time, and I am pleased with how far I have come along this route. Despite this, I am dedicated to moving things forward because I want to make an impression that will linger and achieve a great deal for the sake of everyone.


Do you have any advice that you would like to share to the young people of today and the students of the future?

"Do not rush to become an adult"

Maintain an open mind to the perspectives and viewpoints of others, show respect for others, and take pleasure in each and every moment of your life.
