Sri. Checka Apparao is currently working as the Director (Technical) at Sri Vasavi Engineering College, Tadepalligudem. He completed his B.Tech, with Computer Science and Systems Engineering from GITAM, Vishakhapatnam and did his Master's Degree in Computer Science in U.S.A.

He has worked in IT industry for 8 years in various positions like Project Manager, Architect, System Administrator and HR Manager in US. And then he became an entrepreneur and owned several retail franchised businesses for 9 years in United States. Having lot of experience in technological field and administration, he took charge as a Director (Technical) of Sri Vasavi Engineering College in 2016.

Sri. Checka Apparao on his experience in the education industry

Education plays a vital role in building one’s character. Education can shape a student into a better human being. I have done my masters in US and worked in the software industry for 8 years, then I have become an entrepreneur providing a way of life to many individuals. Now I’m part of the managing committee of Sri Vasavi Engineering College, designated as the Technical Director and I’m contributing to the society by sharing the knowledge I have acquired and helping out our students in becoming better individuals. Education industry is a place where you give back more than what you have taken.

Keeping faculty motivated is a challenge

The biggest challenge is giving right motivation to the faculty and thereby creating that belongingness for the college in our faculty as well as students.

We have inculcated programs that help our students in meeting the industry requirements and that is what makes our curriculum the best.

Goals for SVEC

Every student has to become a good human being by the time he/she leaves the college. Our goal is to ensure that every student achieves their dreams (Job, masters, entrepreneurs, etc.)

Ensure the quality of education by conduct training & certification programs in the college

We work vigorously at increasing the standards of our college, that reflects clearly in the accreditation the college has been awarded. Accreditations our college has received so far are Autonomous, NBA, and Research Centre & NAAC. We conduct training & certification programs in the college for all programs helping students in becoming better in their own field.

A positive school culture

Transparent system, student programs, different clubs or societies, department wise fests as well as technical & cultural fests helps us in building positive school culture.

Establishing a relationship with the students

I interact with a lot of students on a daily basis and talk to them about how they can work on themselves in becoming a better individual both personally & academically.

Growth of students through research & placement opportunities available at Sri Vasavi Engineering College

We ensure their participation in training programs. Industrial visits, internships & projects help them in making themselves industry ready. Projects play a vital role in their academic curriculum ensuring every student takes part actively.
