You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What keeps you connected with the Education Sector and how has your experience been so far with the institute?

“Continuous learning process and to upskill for the current trends on education sector”

Teaching and research are my passions. As a teacher, I don’t just teach students. I also have to keep upskilling myself and learn the current trends. DMIMS always supports, motivate not only the students but also to upgrade.

Being the HoD of Dr. Moonje Institute of Management and Computer studies, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“To provide academic leadership, skilled education, and an effective working environment to pupils”

The prime role of the Head of the Department is to provide strong academic leadership. It is required to lead, manage and develop the department to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. My role is to motivate all departmental staff, enable the students to receive skilled education in the subjects with a positive, encouraging and effective working environment. HOD’s role is to enhance the quality of teaching delivered by the teachers to raise the overall standards of education.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

“Master classes, industrial visits and other curricular activities are provided to pupils”

DMIMCS organize a program called Industry Samvaad. Master classes of Industry leaders are arranged for the students. This helps them to understand the industry in a better way. DMIMCS arrange various Industry visits to update them with current trends in the industry. To understand social responsibility, DMIMS arranges “Shramanubhav Shibir ''. This is a unique activity of DMIMS. Students of DMI visit rural places to solve village problems like water scarcity. 

How does the curriculum of Dr. Moonje Institute of Management and Computer studies ensure that the students are being prepared for the future?

“Organize different activities for the overall development of pupils”

We follows the Curriculum of Savitribai Phule PuneUniversity. Our campus organizes various activities for the overall development of students.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?

“Provide Case study methods, Presentations, field visits etc for pupils”

Instead of just conducting classroom sessions, various innovative teaching-learning methods are used at campus. Some of these include Case study methods, Presentations, field visits etc.

What are the interventions and approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to train/teach the students?

“Soft skill Development Program, Communication Skill and training programs are given to students”

To make students study regularly, we are taking tremendous efforts. For this purpose, evaluations are done on a regular basis. We make a lot of effort to make students strong in academics and him/ her more employable. To do this , apart from curriculum , our campus arranges various training programs like Soft skill Development Program, Communication Skill Development Program etc.

What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?

“Mentoring for pupils related to employment provided by our campus”

Mentoring is also a practice on our campus where we understand & help students to solve their personal as well as academic problems. To make students more employable, various pre-placement programs are arranged.

“Faculties, dedicated management, and learning environment are our greatest strengths”

Human Resource is the greatest strength of Dr. Moonje Institute of Management and Computer studies. Staff and faculty members are devoted and take many efforts to groom students. DMI is well known for Well Developed Infrastructure, Healthy Learning Environment and Academic Ambience with Proactive Academic Leadership, Experienced and Dedicated Research Oriented Faculty, Strong Institute- Industry Interaction and Collaboration.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and Dr. Moonje Institute of Management and Computer studies specifically?

“Unawareness of CET and career preparations on higher studies”

Graduation level students’ are unaware of CET exams and career preparation. This is the greatest challenge faced by higher education nowadays.
