The author assumes that if the government cuts educational aid, then there will be a downfall in the number of highly trained laborers. However, the author is forgetting that today there are many private universities which function independently without taking any government support. If we look at this fact deeply then only a few students are dependent on government aid. This means that a lot of students can still progress in the field of science and business without government aid.

There might be students who are interested in technical fields. They might come from a rich background which clearly implies that they will not require any kind of financial aid in order to pursue their higher education. With the advancement of technology more and more people are inclined towards pursuing technical education. This implies that there will not be any kind of labor shortage. A laborer is a person who might not be literate enough but skilled labor is well read and can keep an account of everything they do. Today the environment has become much more advanced and liberal and many new things are being learnt and taught to everyone. The argument does not look convincing from any point of view. If the author states that international and local markets cannot fulfill the supply of trained laborers then there is going to be a serious labor problem in future. If the author says that in technical and professional qualifications government aid is of high importance only then the argument can be thought upon.
