Which is better for BTech CS, Dronacharya College of Engineering or Sharda University?
Sharda University and Dronacharya College of Engineering have both been established around the same time and while Sharda University is approved by UGC, Dronacharya College of Engineering is AICTE approved. B.Tech. programs, especially CS, is one of the most demanded courses at these institutions.
Major job sectors for CS graduates include Engineering firms, academic institutions, Sales and Marketing firms, IT/Software Companies, etc. Graduates work as Software engineers, application developers, hardware engineers, and many more.

Sharda University: The modern campus is spread across 63 acres of land and provides facilities such as hostels, stores, pharmacy, hospital, transport, library, gym, laundry, salon, community radio, IT department, student activity centre, cafeteria, etc.

Dronacharya College: The institute’s modern campus offers its students facilities such as hostels with 24 hours internet connectivity, recreation rooms, sports facilities, etc. It also provides a library with more than 38,000 books and a health or medical cell.

Those interested must thoroughly research and learn about both the institutes and then arrive at an informed decision as to which one will be the best for them. It depends on one’s academic merit and disposition and is a completely personal choice.
Which is a better option, IT IIEST Shibpur or CSE at IEM?
Here is some information to assist you in choice-making-
Snapdeal, Amazon, Google, etc. visit IIEST Shibpur and offer equal placement opportunities to both IT and CSE students. My roommate from IT got into Snapdeal through campus placement.
IEM isn’t a well-known college. It is a local college unlike IIEST, which is an institute of national importance. The campus size of IEM is very small. Big companies don’t usually visit small colleges like IEM.
The college tag has a value of its own. Besides, the opportunities and exposure offered by IIEST are immense.
Thus, I would recommend you opt for IT at IIEST Shibpur.
How is the Chandigarh University for engineering?
Chandigarh University is one of North India's most prestigious universities. This university has risen to prominence in the field of education in recent years, becoming the region's fastest-growing institution. A lot of my friends studied here.

Placements at Chandigarh University are also competitive when compared to other universities. Every year, Yahoo, Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Deloitte, and other companies visit the campus. So overall choosing CU wont be a bad choice.
What would be better option for me: ECE at NIT Durgapur or a Bachelor's of Technology/Master's of Technology dual degree at IIEST, Shibpur?
I did my dual degree in Aerospace Engineering from IIEST. I will list down the comparison points between an ECE from NIT Dgp and a DD (Aerospace Engineering) from IIEST-
- Placement opportunities are much brighter for ECE in India. This is because there are very few core companies for Aerospace Engineers over here.
- IT companies prefer ECE students over Aerospace students. Also, R&D jobs are difficult to grab for B.Tech/DD students.
- Both are Tier 2 colleges and offer almost the same facilities. JU has better facilities than both of them.
- A dual degree from IIEST isn’t a great option. Rather, try to pursue your PG from a TIER-1 college.
- If you do good research work in your B.Tech, you’ll have better chances of pursuing your Masters from a Tier-1 college/ foreign university.
Try to figure out what interests you more. My personal recommendation is that you pursue B.Tech ECE from NIT Durgapur.
Which department is better in NIT Trichy, Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering?
It’s difficult to compare these branches or any other branches of engineering until and unless you specify the parameters of comparison. Scope, placements, future opportunities, etc., play an important role in differentiating the branches. Also, you should choose based on your interest and future goal while opting for a branch rather than on such parameters.
Now, if you do not have any interest in any particular branch and like most of the students out there, are doing it for the B.Tech tag, you can opt for any of the branches. Both the branches at NIT Trichy are at par. You will get decent placement opportunities from both the branch, provided you maintain decent CGPA. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC offered by NIT Trichy is 6 LPA.
How are the CSE placements at IIT Indore as of now?
IIT Indore CSE placements are great and this year too the branch managed to secure 100% placements. The average package stood at INR 30.32 LPA while the highest stood at INR 48.5 LPA which was the second highest after Electrical. The top companies visiting the campus are

IIT Indore has the best placement scenario among the new IITs and the credit goes to the IT hub.
Does an engineering physics graduate from IIT Delhi get high packages?
Engineering Physics is one of the most intriguing research-oriented branches of IIT Delhi. Students of this branch get the excellent opportunity to work in top research centers like ISRO, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Eminent scientists and professors testify to the branch's credibility so need not worry about placements.
However, this branch is highly challenging and should be opted for only if you are serious about making a career out of it. The curriculum is challenging with high-level mathematics.
Students from most branches end up working in MNCs and leave soon because they are not satisfied. However, the Engineering Physics branch provides excellent job prospects. I know someone who chooses this branch over CS and Electrical despite his AIR being 10.
This branch requires serious commitment and one has to be truly devoted to the field. The faculty is not that good in comparison to other branches and this might make you suffer initially, but once you start understanding the practical concepts, it will become one of the most interesting courses you have ever come across.
How is CSE in MANIT Bhopal as I wish to join MANIT this year?
B.Tech CS offered by MANIT has its own cons. Here is some information about the same-
- The topics taught in first year are mostly non related to your branch. Pay attention to Programming and Communication Skills taught during this time.
- A lot of time is wasted in the labs, learning outdated topics.
- Around 20% of the syllabus is outdated, and students solely rely on coding for good job offers. Thus, most of them go into Soft Skills rather than R&D positions.
- Internet connectivity is crippled by throttling and capping in the hostels.
- The files and sessionals are copy pasted.
- CS students get tier-2 and 3 companies through campus placements. They jump into tier-1 companies after a while. So, even though there is 100% placement, the ground reality is a bit different.
The CSE offered at MANIT Bhopal is decent, and requires a lot of effort from your side. I would suggest you learn C programming language before joining the college.
I am currently pursuing 1st year B.tech (CSE) in NIT Raipur. Can I give JEE Mains next year and take admission in another NIT or IIIT?
Yes, you can surely attempt your JEE Mains/Advanced/BITS. Many students do the same. There are (and have been) at least 1 or 2 such students in every batch of NIT Raipur.
But I would advise you not to opt for just any other NIT. Choose an NIT which is at least 5-6 ranks above NIT Raipur. Otherwise, switching to another NIT will prove ineffective. The same goes for IIITs, choose only the old ones.
This is because NIT Raipur offers decent placements for CSE, at par with the NITs of the same stature. So wasting a year for NIT Jamshedpur or NIT Durgapur will be fruitless. If you go for JEE counseling, you’ll have to withdraw from your NIT Raipur seat first. To be on the safe side, go for the counseling only with a score high enough to get you CSE in a better ranking NIT. Otherwise, you might get NIT Raipur once again. This has happened with students in the past.

Should I take food and agriculture engineering at IIT Kharagpur?
In my opinion, Food and Agriculture Engineering course offered at IIT Kharagpur is indeed a good option for those inclined toward this field. Here are a few pointers as to why choosing this program is worthwhile
- Before making the final decision, go through the course structure and check if it aligns with your interests. If you like it then go for it as it offers a plethora of opportunities in the field of food processing and agriculture in India as well as the USA.
- This is the perfect branch for research enthusiasts as this sector needs a lot of research to be done on increasing food production and its proper storage.
- Another great aspect is that you are not required to pursue your branch only. You may apply for interdisciplinary courses like minors, micro specialization, etc in other branches of your own choice. This will not restrict your job prospects to the specific branch only.
- You are always open to changing your branch at the end of the first year if you feel that the branch you chose is not for you. However, for this certain conditions need to be met like an 8.5+ CGPA. Trust me this is not that difficult all you need is some consistency and determination.
- This course is a splendid opportunity for those who are planning to pursue MBA in Ahmedabad as it provides a course in Agri-business Management. This program is highly coveted by many and guarantees excellent packages.
All the above opportunities are lucrative and can appeal to anyone who is genuinely interested in the branch. Moreover, IIT Kharagpur placements are also decent for the branch because most non-core companies allow the students of this branch to sit for placements.
