How is the placement of IET Lucknow in ECE?

SP
Sreeja Prasad Posted On : August 5th, 2021
B.Tech CSE, IET Lucknow (2019)

IET Lucknow has a decent reputation in the industry. Therefore, the aggregate placement of the institute is satisfactory. In general, the campus depends upon the students, teachers, and the college.

The ECE branch has average placement. But if you are expecting jobs in core companies then you will be disappointed. There are very few core job offers in the placement drive. However, you will get good opportunities in CSE or IT core companies. So, it’s better to work on your computer language (c++, Java) skills.

The companies that come for the campus are LT, Aditya Birla Group, NTPC, Power Corporation Limited, BHEL, RDSO, DRDO, DLW, RDSO, BEL, BHEL, BARC, IOCL, BSNL, and more. The median CTC offered in the campus drive is 5 LPA. If you work hard, you’ll successfully get placed.

What is the placement scenario at the Nirma University for electrical engineers? Should I prefer it over SRM computer science?

OK
Oli Kundu Posted On : May 15th, 2021
Nirma University

Electrical and Computer science is very different from each other and they have very few things similar to each other.

  • In electrical engineering, the course module includes a lot of physics and classical and applied maths, but in computer science, the course module includes discrete and applied maths and there is no part of physics.
  • In electrical engineering, there are a lot of theoretical studies of maths and physics but in computer science, there are mostly logical studies and coding. Although at the advanced level, these two branches do marge a bit, they are completely different for beginners.

Here’s a brief overview of the two courses mentioned in the question.

Parameters

EE at Nirma University

CS at SRM

Average CTC

6 LPA

6-8 LPA

Highest CTC

8 LPA

28 LPA

So, you should choose the branch according to your skills and knowledge, rather than choosing a branch, based only on placements. Otherwise, you may have to opt for branch change after 1st year.

The MTech ESD is a newly launched program at IIIT Bangalore. Here are a few pros and cons that might help you understand the credibility of the program

Pros

  • The course structure is extremely flexible allowing you to take up any course of your choice.
  • The students of Embedded Systems are assisted by their senior batch, from team Q-Alpha, regarding all aspects.

Cons

Do tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, or Uber, visit FMS, Delhi for product management roles?

S
Sagardeep Posted On : January 10th, 2023
Product Manager

Not really, at least not yet. Product management is a growing field that has received a lot of attention in recent years. What you need to be a successful Product Manager is an interdisciplinary education, not necessarily a traditional MBA. You must understand product development, including how a product evolves from an idea to a full-fledged product, how iteration occurs, and how you continuously generate value for your product's users. FMS is a fantastic school in terms of the talent it attracts in India. If you want to be a PM and strengthen your foundation in Comp Sci fundamentals, Strategy and Marketing can help you understand the market. Improve your knowledge of a specific industry.

Take a design thinking course. It will teach you how to put the various puzzle pieces together, such as the user's needs, goals, company goals, vision, and value proposition, to arrive at feature recommendations for the product. Domain expertise is required to understand the problems that exist in that industry and what product is required to address them. To stay ahead of technological trends, you must ride the wave and build the right things at the right time. Follow the blogs of some of the best product people who have shared their wisdom. Learn it and put it into practice. The best way to learn product management is to create something on your own.

Is XUB different from XIMB? What is the fee structure for XUB and placements?

SP
Shivam Putra Posted On : March 13th, 2023
Former Consultant at KPMG (2019–2021)

XUB is not exactly different from XIMB. XUB comprises more schools like

  • school of commerce
  • school of mass communication
  • school of economics and sustainability development

In addition there are several PG courses like MBF and it now even offers graduation in Science. Despite the variety of courses offered, the primary focus is MBA. While at XIMB the only course offered is MBA.

Both the campuses are well built far from the city saving them from hectic city traffic. XUM still has some buildings under construction. Excellent food and transport facilities make them a more attractive choice.

Of the two, XIMB was established earlier so enjoys more brand name and value than XUB. XIMB value can be determined through All India Rankings which is not possible in the case of XUB.

How difficult is it for a student of NITIE, Mumbai with Under graduate(UG) score 65-70% to get good summers and final placements? Will low UG score effect in getting good shortlists?

SS
Swapnil Shinde Posted On : August 10th, 2021
Studied at NIFT Delhi (2019)

Well once you are in top B-Schools you don’t worry about placements until and unless you are literally under confident with your skills and knowledge. And that happens by chance as the curriculum makes you super ready for the challenges whatsoever.

But, summer placement will certainly affect the number of shortlists you get. Then it is up to you, how soon you can convert one out of the few shortlists that you have.

Also, summer placements will be affected if you have not been part of great initiatives or projects in your work experience to make up for it. So, I can say as no. of shortlists may be low, but the shortlist converting ratio is high as you hold a 2 yr IT Work Ex. and don't worry about summer placements. There is a lot more to do here.

So, this is the detail I can assist you with and I hope you are ready with your preparation. Just give your best and you are in NITIE.

How are the placements for CSD in IIIT Delhi?

AM
Ashwin Mahajan Posted On : October 7th, 2023
studied at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (2020)

Placements in IIIT Delhi are dependent on individual profiles and skills. The college can just invite good IT companies but the package they will offer depends on you alone. IIIT Delhi has many big shots coming for placements including Qualcomm, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, MathWorks, Dell, Synopsys, Adobe, IBM, Accenture, Complex Systems Laboratory, etc. Some of these companies may not allow CSE students to sit for placements but that is rare. As long as you fulfill a certain GPA criteria and clear the test you will be interviewed.

In order to clear the coding tests, one must be proficient in computer programming and have enough knowledge of DBMS, OS, and AMD development be it Android ios web. To add value to your profile, you must do internships, projects, research, and good grades.

The CSE placement percentage for the BTech course this year stood at 97.38%, so you don’t have to worry about placements at all.

What is average package for an EE at NIT Jalandhar, and what is the highest?

SG
Sukrit Gupta Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
Studied at B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ) (Graduated 2022)

The placement percentage of Electrical Engineers at NIT Jalandhar this year (2022) was 69.23%.

The average Package of EE (2018-2022) Batch (till date) is 11.95 LPA. This package was for the FTE offer for GET(Graduate Engineer Trainee) Role.

The highest Package secured by one of my classmates was INR 9.2 LPA in FuturesFirst (Trading). Some were selected by Deloitte USI offering 6.2 LPA (Consulting) followed by Saint Gobain offering 6 (Shift Engineer+marketing) and many more.

Basically, almost everyone from EE was able to get placed at good firms with good packages. In Fact, some big companies like Samsung, HSBC, Texas Instruments, and Oracle visited for students with software profiles but one of us had actually developed proficiency in it.

If you are really interested in the subject go for it. Don’t worry about placements. For the best placements join the circuital branch ( CSE, ECE, IT, EE, ICE)
