PGDM in Strategy and Operations, Indian Institute of Management Shillong (Graduated 2018)

It is important to consider the reputation and brand strength of both IIM Shillong and Purdue University when making a decision about which institution to attend. While IIM Shillong is a well-respected business school in India, Purdue University is a globally recognized institution with a strong reputation. If a candidate has confidence in their own abilities and is willing to take a risk, Purdue University may offer more opportunities and a different career path than IIM Shillong.

However, if a candidate is unsure of their ability to succeed or is looking for a more established and reliable path, IIM Shillong may be a better choice. It is important to carefully consider one's own goals and abilities before making a decision about which institution to attend.

How often can I visit home while pursuing a two year PGPM course at MDI Gurgaon?

AA
Ashutosh Agarwal Posted On : February 23rd, 2023
PGDM from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (2019)

MDI Gurgaon PGPM program is residential and requires its students to stay within campus 24/7. The reason is the unexpected guest lectures, extra classes, and various student activities that usually take place on Saturdays. So leaving the campus to visit your family is out of the question unless you want to miss all these activities.

While some of these activities are only optional, many are compulsory and might affect your placements and academics directly. Moreover, assignments and submissions are usually done on weekends as weekdays are too hectic. So if you are willing to travel home, you can manage to do so once or twice a month making sure none of these activities are affected.

Which one to choose: IIM L PGP-SM course or NITIE PGDIM?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : June 7th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

For an SCM background, PGDIM from NITIE will be a better option.

NITIE PGDIM focuses on core management and operations, while IIM Lucknow PGP-SM focuses on sustainability management.

For students from an SCM background, learning core management is of greater value. You will learn marketing, HR, and finance in depth.

Sustainability Management focuses on micro and macroeconomics to sustain the business environment. Sustainability Management is becoming increasingly important in management studies. It is becoming popular in the field of management. But the PGP-SM course will not cover core management.

Which university amongst Shiv Nadar, Thapar, Sharda, and LPU is best for an MBA?

ST
Sneha Thapar Posted On : May 1st, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Management Studies at Shiv Nadar University

Among these four, Shiv Nadar is one step ahead of the others. It is seen to be highly funded in the Management department because it is completely new and is in the process of development.

  • In NIRF 2020, Shiv Nadar University has been ranked in the 56th position among other Indian universities and in the 82nd position around and over India.
  • Professors in the department are both highly professional and have respective qualifications. Besides, they are not indifferent towards their students as is the case nowadays in various institutes, if not Shiv Nadar.
  • Some of the several top recruiters of Shiv Nadar University, that is, SNU consists of Adobe, Ashok Leyland, Dell, Bosch, Cognizant, TATA, Amazon, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, and Infosys among different others.
  • The highest package received at Shiv Nadar is recorded to be 31.5 LPA while the average package was 7.5 LPA.

This institution is yet in its development phase and has shown success, you can clearly enroll in it without having to stress much. It is considered better than the other three.

Do toppers in the batch get a good package irrespective of their background in FMS, XLRI, IIFT, and IIMs?

SP
Shashank Prabhu Posted On : June 16th, 2021
MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (2019)

Let me first clarify this idea that the package does not match the ranking. Secondly, the good package isn't related to "good package" & "business that offers it" in general as well.

  • The two above combined into MBA colleges and require special skills in the field of employment tasks.
  • In addition, you only have some benefit in choosing which business you desire to become a top student at an MBA School.
  • But for companies that are also not on your preferred list, the package may be pricier.
  • Company packages differ and their skills and candidacy requirements also suit.
  • Some companies exclusively employ people who have work experience, some who have specialized working experiences, or special graduates.

Through some roles, whomever you are or are not top, your background matters. And the package is a flexible element in all major institutions, based on the choice of a firm.

What are my chances of getting admission in PUMBA at 92.02 %ile in MAH-CET? What are the other colleges I can apply for at the same percentile for MBA? I belong to open category. HU student.

TA
Tejas Agarwal Posted On : April 17th, 2023
Student at DMS PUMBA

First of all, congrats on that percentile. Since the cutoff is 98-99+ and you are from the general category, unfortunately your percentile is not enough for PUMBA. Using your CET score, you can still apply for PGDM courses in different NL Dalmia, Wellingkar, KJSIMSR Mumbai, XIMR Mumbai, and Chetana institutions.
